Those people who take it all far too seriously, especially those types that ask how much I can bench press, usually found gurning and groaning away in the "real men's" area of the gym.

FOAD! my routine is:

Arrive at gym, look at a few of the machines think nope, ponder one of the classes, nope, then go to the sauna, steam room, shower, jacuzzi, shower, home.

're: water. I cycle to the gym so would much rather have an empty, light bottle then add weight to my backpack and also wet it's contents. I don't care for it being ice cold. During my workouts I will only have a sip here and there, sometimes not at all.

I do stronglifts routine (with pendlay rows instead of barbell rows) so leg day is 3x a week...

Theres leg day and then theres leg day. Moaning about carrying an extra 1kg of water on your back which you wont really notice unless hes some sort of pro-athlete (who also carry water), would suggest he is in the former than the later

Men in tight white vests. We know it's your underwear really. I mean who actually goes out and buys white vests just for the gym?

The gym I use seems to be coming under siege by young lads (19-23ish) who seem obsessed with there hair!!
One of the lads earlier, after every set, he was straight up to the mirror, inspecting his hair in minute detail???

They also seem to be squat dodgers and are all about showy upper body hence why they all have track bottoms on and its bloody warm!

You never know. I tend to focus more on back and leg work, choosing to wear a pair of combats and a loose sports t-shirt in the gym.

But you're probably right about those lads - let me guess, supersetting bicep curls with hair tidying?

I noticed one young lad go and weigh himself after every set. And these were sets which wouldn't have Jo Brand break a sweat.

Half a dozen 25kg 'kicks' on the leg extension machine.
Weigh in.
Another few kicks.
Weigh in.
Press a 10kg bar over his head four or five times.
Weigh in.

... and so it continued. confused

Yep, that's about right! In the couple months I've seen them in there, leg works always avoided so reckon there is a serious muscle imbalance going on between upper/lower body!

But its just the way this one lad in particular seems so obsessed with his hair, its up to the mirror after every set and inspecting/messing with it- I mean, what a fking cock-sucker!!

Do you think cold water (what with cold air being denser) is heavier than warm/hot water?

You would have loved the chap at Hilton South Bank over the weekend. No shirt, hotel slippers and short shorts. Sweating everywhere and completely unable to wipe up after himself.
