People obsessed with getting a protein shake down their neck's 30 seconds after finishing a workout.. FFS.. it can wait till you get home / back to work, it literally won't make any difference to you or your recovery but it will mean that there isn't a nasty mess in water station where you've spilt some powder or on the floor by said water station or worse still, in the changing room where you've shaken the shaker only to realise the lid isn't on properly so now there are splatters of it all over the floor, wall's and lockers. Not to mention discarded packets of protein mix, empty tub's etc..
Exactly. I've been following 'powdergate'^ with utter bemusement.Lift - shower - walk back to office - put liquid in first, then powder, then 'spring', and there' no sediment to be seen.

Anyone run in to any YouTubers / Bloggers, or general videoing each other and their mates? Luckily neither have I.
I've just rejoined my old gym, now a PureGym. Looking forward to a whole bunch of weird randomness. . .
How does it differ from TheGym?I've just rejoined my old gym, now a PureGym. Looking forward to a whole bunch of weird randomness. . .
Loads of them opened up in my area and are half the price of my gym. But none of them (except 1) have a squat rack/deadlift floor for, the one that does have it only has 1. Utterly useless place for me to go.
Not a moan, but something that happened at the gym today. There was a young woman there, who was very, very obviously anorexic. Not marathon runner thin, holocaust survivor thin. She was exercising, hard. I caught my trainer's eye and she shook her head and muttered something to the extent that the gym was failing in its duty of care. A quick google suggests that there is some debate about whether gyms have an ethical responsibility here and that at least sometimes they intervene;

Yes, had one in my previous gym, probably in her 40's so assume it'd been a longer term problem?, she didn't cover it up either, Lycra shorts and a longish crop top of sorts. I think everyone felt a bit sorry for her, but as far as I know, nobody pulled her up on potential health issues. In hindsight I guess. . . It was up to someone else to speak to her! What do you say though?

Not much you can as a member of the public, I guess, but whether the gym should be letting her kill herself in there?otolith said:

I can't see how a gym has any responsibility at all beyond the law.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2405368/...

Greggs don't refuse to serve fatties, Smokers can buy fags and plenty of alcoholics go to bargain booze.
Where would it end if a business had to decide on whether it could serve a customer based on there physical condition.
Sorry Mo, you can't run in here, too thin mate.

Yeah, it's not clear cut. A bar can't serve a drunk, but it can serve an alcoholic. She was very obviously ill, but at what point you would intervene is debatable.
I wouldn't at any point and my business is running health clubs.I see people every single day who are in appalling shape (too much, too little, some kind of injury) I see people doing exercises that will clearly damage them, yet they have no interest in being shown the correct technique.
As long as people sign an HCS and we operate the business correctly that's it for me.
Health clubs/Gyms aren't there to judge people.
