At mine, even the disabled spaces are too far away for some and they just park either on the double yellows directly outside the front door, or in the lay-by that is labelled keep clear. It's not enforced as it's a leisure park. Boils my piss.

They do at mine, sometimes. Most of the time the staff stand around talking to their mates/girls they fancy.

People who pick up heavy weights then drop them from waist height onto the floor shaking the entire building.
People who pull up their shirt in front of the mirrors to stare at their abs.
People who park their cars in the disabled spots when they are able bodied
People who talk loudly about how much gear they are on and how hard they are to friends whilst lifting

Its the first one that really annoys me the most...
+1 saves me typing it out again. Also people that ask me to spot them, I don't mind if they are lifting it but when it's clearly to heavy and your doing most of the lifting I find that annoying.

Do you go to my gym? Absolutely vaporises my urine this. Park in disabled bay then run for 45 mins on treadmill. How can that be right?

At least they're running... at mine they'd be chatting, adjusting clothing, drinking energy drinks, picking their tunes, mixing protein shakes, unravelling their ipod headphone cables - pretty much anything bar exercise.

Go to a manly gym then you big pansy! hehe Although chasing the girls in the spinning class is difficult to get away from!

I love my gym for its no-nonsense approach to training and its like a big friendly community, I know most of the folk in there and they have me with advice and spotting me as I need it.

People standing in front of me when I'm trying to use a mirror to check out me abz!

I was doing some barbell work the other day, practicing snatches, cleans, thrusters etc, so I needed to keep an eye on how low I was going, whether or not I was twisting (for some reason I tend to either lean or twist to one side), etc and the same two fkers keep swaggering about in front of me - it's as if they're doing it on purpose!

I resemble that remark.

IKWYM, but the 'proper' man's gym is out of my way. Fitness First is five minutes from the office and if I get there by 0640 hrs it's not too busy and can get stuff done without too much trouble.
1700 hrs it's a fecking nightmare.
The proper gym doesn't start till 0700 & has no showers. That means I'd have to go home after my workout for a shower and change. I start work at 0800 so it's just not possible.
The other local-ish places are just too far off my daily route to either fit in time wise or near enough to make it easy to go. If I have to go just a few miles out of my way, I end up making excuses to skip sessions.
As it is, FF early-doors fits the bill, with the bonus of the lycra clad, body pumping chicks at the weekend. [/perv] biggrin

I know the feeling. Sitting on one machine is bad enough but I've had a guy trying to claim 2 or 3 sets of equipment as he was doing a circuit.
My main problem, which will be repeated every time the subject comes up: Put the weights back when you've finished!
I walked in my gym earlier and every set of dumbbells 8 to 25Kg was somewhere on the floor. Some of them were actually being used, one guy had 3 sets under the bench he was using, the rest just laying around.

Idiots that drop/throw the weight when they've finished.

Noisy/Grunty GGGGGGRRRUUUURRRRRRggghhhhh!!! people, often with a spotter shouting COME ON!! ONE MORE!!!

Smelly people.

And a minor moan. People that spend ages on the treadmil/x-trainer at a very gentle walking pace not putting any effort in. (Only applies when there's no other machine free.) If you're making the effort to turn up you should at least break a sweat.
Agree completely with all those yes

One I'd like to add is people not wiping their sweaty stinky sweaty sweat off the machines after they've finished.

Holy heck yes! You come to a gym and you can't be arssed to walk 10 yards??

although the Gym could help by making the "normal" spaces bigger for cars such as FFRRs and MPVs.

People putting a 20kg dumbell where the 8kg should go on the rack. Rinse and repeat with the the other weights.

Being asked questions in the middle of a set.

People walking right in front of me when lifting when there's loads of room elsewhere.

When asking how long or how many more sets someone has getting a reply of 'I dunno' FFS.

People asking to be spotted when they cant lift the weight to start with!?! Why?! A guy got annoyed with me when I told him no once. I then proceeded to ask him if he was struggling for energy while shagging his bird would he ring me and ask me to 'spot him?'

People who are afraid of a wash and deodrant!!! It costs a quid!!!

People who stand and watch blatantly what you are doing...You know... That eyes burning into you feeling.

When you have just sat on a bench or piece of equipment and someone who has seen this comes over and says 'Are you using that.'

As you can imagine I am usually annoyed at something in the gym.

OH MY LORD THIS!!!

Why do they do it?!! Also where they put the treadmill on the steepest incline, hold onto the bar and walk for two hours! Have they no idea the strain this puts on their backs?

I know I could go outside and run I know, I know. But why come to the gym to WALK?
