Why Am I so Farty?
Discussion
So, since march I've lost 4 stone through intense gym exercise and a healthy diet but the only downside (for the mrs at least) is my horrendous flatulence. Its really bed, frequent, concistent and really eggy.
Diet wise I eat a lot of fruit and veg, beans, quorn and I use a lot of garlic chilli etc in my meals. I also chew gum all day I drink 3 cans of diet coke a day.
I am regular and I don't get any pain or discomfort in my belly either. So what can I do to neutralize my hideous bottom burps?

Yep. Beans. They really do make you fart. They take a long time to digest and what is left, react with the bacteria large intestines. As they break it down the by-product is gas... and loads of it.
I've tried Cananelli, Bartolli, Lima/Butter, Soy, Red kidney, Black eye in various states of cookedness.
FYI though personal experience, Soy beans are number 1 for fartyness. On the stair-climb scale, I can slip one out almost per step. Lima are next up, with a slip about once per 3 steps. Beans are awesome for leading the way up to the meeting room.
It's down to the amino acid profile. The better it is, the logner it takes to digest, the more likely some leftovers for the bacteria in your large intestines.

I am on a cocktail of painkilling and other drugs at the moment to do with a back/hip problem.
Let me tell you that these, combined with the senna and laxative that go along with them to avoid being bunged up like er.......bunged up thing, have reached some sort of chemical balance where my body has turned into a steam train, chuffing and puffing from both ends with sufficient power to gently move the curtains as I hobble to the kitchen after a while on a warm settee building up a head of pressure!
Quite proud in some ways but my word, you can have too much of a good thing.

Have you been on any antibiotics? A couple of Christmases ago I have pretty nasty 'flu for a few weeks and hardly ate anything, the result was (I believe) that some of the beneficial bacteria in my system became depleted. This gave me enough wind at both ends to power a small turbine. It took more than a year to subside, I guess the appropriate bacteria took their time to repopulate. Unfortunately a couple of months ago I was prescribed antibiotics for an ear infection, and within a few days my gaseous emissions were rivalling a small block V8.
I'm tempted to try one of the "pro-biotic" drinks, but haven't got the foggiest which to start with, or if they will help.

No not been on anti-biotics, haven't been ill for ages. I ate well last night, 4 chicken breasts, 2 wholemeal wraps, lots of dry fried veg followed by raspberries greek yogurt with honey and today the farting has eased.
Its still brewing and still honking but the regularity has lessened. Steak, sweet potato and sweet chillis tonight so we'll see how that goes.
