Apple cider vinegar. I tried bazuka, wartner spray, generic salacylic acid, wartner caustic pen, trying to hack it off. None of them worked. The GP said they don't freeze them now unless its causing pain or disfigurement.

The apple cider vinegar on cotton wool taped to my finger, left over night, repeated over the period of a couple of weeks made short work of it.

Quite a few places aren't freezing them off any more. Salicylic acid is brilliant, OTC stuff isn't.
You can buy the freeze off kit from chemists now, scholl do one.

Freeze it either at the Drs or with one of the kits. Do it more often and/or hold it on for longer than the instructions to make them work. I'm fairly certain the instructions are written to maximize the sales and minimise the benefit.

Another vote for salicylic acid. After 3 years and every 'cure' known to man, this is what finally did it.

Not sure why you think people with warts are mouth breathers at all?

I had a major issue with warts on my fingers when I was little, had 7 on my right index finger alone, couple of big ones but most small ones. Tried Bazuka and tried liquid nitrogen which didn't resolve the issue, finally got sorted by a large blade slicing them off and digging out the root. I have been wart free ever since and no sign of any scarring either.

I had a big one for years on my finger and a few smaller ones, tried everything, freezing, cutting etc. Eventually I gave up and they all cleared up pretty quickly and haven't come back. I wound if your body eventually finds a defnce against them?

It can do. It's the same as veruccas. Sometimes they happen and go without you knowing. Only the stubborn ones you notice and treat.

If your immune system is faulty they quickly get out of hand. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0H-qDKEd8V4

I developed one on my finger when I was about 13.

As I was a dumb kid, I didn't mention it to my parents or anything because I was scared of doctors and hospitals an imagined all sorts of horrible treatments.

My Dad used to have some scalpels in the house he used for work. Not sterile ones though! So like a tit, I grabbed one and used it to cut the wart out of my finger. There was much blood and pain frown

However, amazingly, I didn't get an infection or sceptascemia, and the wound healed and the wart was no more.

But I wouldn't recommend you do this! biggrin

Lol, that's what my mum did with mine and a pair of scissors. She did heat the ends of the scissors with a flame, opened them up and started routing round, but yes, a lot of blood and pain lol but it fixed my issue.

Freeze it off. Doesn't hurt much and it's foolproof. Last time I had one, I did it myself with a cotton bud and liquid nitrogen. I'm guessing the kits will be just as easy.

I used to get verrucas repeatedly on my feet when I was younger - even one under my fingernail from picking at them!! New ones would appear as fast as the old ones were removed...

Got rid of all of them except one, was a big one on the sole of my foot, went through years of Bazuka, straight up acid, and three seperate courses of freezing, didn't touch it...

After all that I got so sick of it I got hold of a medical blade and just dug it out of my foot - never felt pain like it, had to roll up a towel and bite down on it and felt like I was going to pass out (only time I ever passed out was a motorcycle accident involving head impact years later...)

Blood EVERYWHERE and limped for a few days (similar to one freezing session) but since then I've never had another one

I had one on my finger too. I sterilised a set of nail clippers and clipped all the way around the base of the wart then got a scissors and used it to prise it off. It hurt a lot and there was a lot of blood but it also gave me a strange satisfied feeling, like picking a scab, and it never came back.
