All going well for me too, and started on the Fast diet with the missus today.

Over 400 roadbike miles now since 1 Jan, did a big hilly section around Beachy Head that I wouldn't have completed (without stopping) as a smoker.

Less than 4 months until Alpe D'Huez ascent and probably others too, so another 1200 hilly miles and -5kg and I should be ready.

41 days and £370.00 in the jar. My first real test last Friday as out on the lash with 6 friends and 5 smoked. The odd pang, but still strong enough to stay in the boozer while they went outside for a fix.
Toughest time for me seems to be weekends, as at work, nobody else smokes and there's no time to even think about it.
Keep it up!
Masochist or what, well done!! I'm still off the weed too - similar amount of time as you only my cravings have returned something rotten - also huge hunger... almost like I quit yesterday not eons ago. yesterday found myself standing behind a total stranger having a fag and enjoying the occasional waft of smoke...

Really hacking me off now. Day 45 and over £420.00 saved but it's been hell today. Still using a patch but massive cravings. Mouth still tastes disgusting and eating for 6!
Starting to long for working days....not good

I think the patches aren't helping. Tempted to rip it off and endure the max 36hrs physical withdrawal? You might not even hardly notice. I did this from the off, but doubt would have succeeded without the exercise/new habbit.

Now at 7 months and 15 days I went cold turkey from 60 a day just decided not to buy any more. Although I had a bit of assistance four weeks in I broke my tibia and fibula in three places and required a lot of metalwork in my leg. I couldn't get fags and the Mrs/family/friends wouldn't get me any. For two months I couldn't move I ate like fk 3.5 stone I have put on. Still eating like fk but feel better off the fags. Now back at work so hope to lose some weight.
Keep it up everyone its well worth it.

48 hours in, first attempt.. wish me luck. longest I have been without for 3 years or so.

Currently trying not to murder anyone... Have replaced with coffee. Hence sitting on here at half 12 instead of in bed with the misses. Stupid.

Very best luck Walsh and lets hope that the 'first time is lucky' for you. Yikes! Mind the coffee (and Mrs W!); crunching on a coffee bean does it for me, less caffeine than a mug full too.

I'm a few days clean of what has been a struggle, bit rubbish if I'm honest. I've still sent the vast majority of 2013 smoke-free, but have lapses in certain scenarios.

Had a bad trip on Champix a few years ago, but might see if it's moved on or if there's something similar out there to give a go.

Well done to everyone who's stayed off them, never too late if anyone else wants to do it now. I'm living* proof that it can be a struggle but others are doing great.

Coffee is still helping with the smoking, not so much with the sleeping... Did the classic addict thing today, and fabricated a perfectly valid reason to break my hard earned 4 day cessation (job interview went well, so I nabbed a smoke of a mate for a "reward"), and promptly felt ill, and very guilty. Joy.

12 Hours smoke free... Attempt 2.

Gave up on new years day and managed 1 1/2 weeks cold turkey then had some serious girl related stress (timing wasn't great) - instead of going back on the fags I have been on the e-cigs since.

Some times I don't even use one over a day, but very useful when going out drinking.

Only had a couple of slips, smoking 2 fags when things hit the fan with the girl and a couple of drags from a mate when my e-cig ran out of battery.

Been going to gym a fair bit and running which is really helping.

Keep strong people!
