One thing to take away from this 'Never trust a fart'
A rule of life that my Uncle taught me was "if you are not 100% sure then it's always better to fart on the loo."

Possibly the most useful advice ever given to me and it has saved me huge embarrassment on at least 2 occasions.

This lovely virus has just swept through my house, started with my two year old girl on Friday and is just leaving me today. I did not know it was possible to piss out my arse while simultaneously throwing up litres of bile at the same time! Plus i may have left a solid fart on the sofa for the mrs to clean up............

so one year and three weeks later I have been hit again, is god punishing me??
Started feeling that something was wrong at work and the vomiting started, made it home and lunchtime and the floodgates opened at both ends.
I think the worst thing is knowing I have days of this torture left.

Happy Noroday! party

Sorry, couldn't resist. Almost a year later and you get it again?! That sucks, and like you said, worst thing is knowing it's going to hang around for a day or three. frown

We all had it recently and I thought I was going to die. I actually started yakking up blood and just wanted to be put out of my misery, I lost a stone and even now 3 weeks later I am not 100% again.

Its Ebolas little brother.

Does the virus/big stay in the gut for a long time after you feel better?

Think of it as an annual purge where you lose about 5% of your bodyweight.

Stay strong. You can do it. smile

So the bd has caught up with me. Felt a bit peaky on Friday at work, by midnight I had water squirting out my Harris.
Saturday saw the start of the vom and the conundrum of which end to point at the loo.
st myself in my sleep last night too, thankfully I slept in underwear which limited the damage.
Still feel like dying. The sickness seems to have passed my my arse is still very much in full swing.

I've just got back from a cruise and this was going around the ship like wildfire - people were dropping like flies. I was just immensely thankful that I didn't catch it.

Awful bug!

I had it about 5 or 6 years ago and the thought of it still gives me nightmares. I didn't realise you could catch it more than once, I thought I'd served my time! Good illness for a quick bit of weight loss though.

I started with it on Saturday night. spent most of the night wrapped in a duvet while sat on the bog turning inside out. luckily the sink is right next to it so saves some trouble. to top it off its come in the middle of a very heavy head cold too. its fking horrendous as is the red raw arse.

Norovirus seems quite a common occurrence on cruise ships.

I feel your pain. I was admitted to hospital with this 8 years ago and it was horrific.

I didn't have a clue what was going on at the time. I even shat my pants in the ambulance in front of my then girlfriend, followed by puking into a cardboard tray thing. It's horrific.

I think the guys have already given you sound advice. Stay hydrated and take plenty of salts so your body can absorb fluids well. Electrolyte drinks are very good but dilute them as they contain a lot of sugars and glucose.

Otherwise you can buy hydration salts but they taste foul and they made me puke even more.

The good news is if you look after yourself, you'll be well enough after a few days but stay away from work or any friends for over a week. What you have is extremely contagious!!!

Had it since Friday. Lost over a stone in weight since then (I'm 5'11/6'0 and now currently 11st 4!).

Combined with the fact that I have IBS anyway, which is definitely exacerbating things, and the fact I should have started my new job today and you could say I've had a fairly miserable start to 2015!
