Jeez it sounds like this is doing the rounds again, could you all be very kind and stay the fk away from Scotland, I REALLY don't want to catch this again.

For those that do have it make sure to sleep on a towel over black bin bags and if you have a fancy luxury (expensive) feather Duvet I suggest getting someone to buy you one for a tenner from Tesco as you are bound to st the bed at some point, slightly flat coke/ lemonade, pro biotic yoghurts and lucozade sport with Dyoralite powders mixed in will help.

Just coming through the worst of it now. Probiotic yoghurt definitely made a difference, I am watertight again smile I also went with boiled sweets for the energy which I think helped.
On the arse front, rather than cream, I went for wet wipes from the start which I think reduces the wiping damage!

All in all I'm almost there. I'm craving a dirty kebab but fear I might be getting a bit ahead of myself!

For those of you still suffering, you have sympathies!

When the norovirus hit me, the result coming out my arse was the same colour as Swarfega - does that count?

I don't think there is much they can do TBH frown
Hydration salts will help, but there's no 'cure' as such. It's 8 days since I started with it and today is the first day I've felt normal, albeit still quite lethargic.

I checked the NHS website and they said to avoid the doctor's to avoid spreading it.If I'm still ill by the time of the exam how can I prove I'm not faking it if the doctor won't see me?
Call them first thing tomorrow and ask for advice! If they insist on a doctor's note call the doctor and ask them what to do, if they say to not come in ask for a letter saying so tongue out

The wife came back on Saturday night after spending Friday/Saturday morning with her family - last night she starting vomiting etc and generally feels awful. Turns out the rest of her family are now ill and it has come from her niece's school were there has been a number of cases of norovirus. How contagious is this? I feel like a ticking time bomb......

My understanding is that it's a bit like Ebola yikes It's transferred through bodily fluids like saliva and vomit. I'd keep well away!

I got it last year on the last day of a cruise. Nightmare. I spent all night with it coming out of both ends.

The next morning we had a taxi booked for the one hour drive from Southampton to home.

I took 2-3 immodium for the bum end. I also took some of the stugeron 15 that I use for sea sickness as it's a general anti-sickness treatment.

It got me through the disembarkation process and home. Everything stayed sured up until the next day. I felt pretty awful for about 7 days.

Good luck. It's a grim experience. You have my sympathy. Good luck with the exam.

PS. I really found that it messed up my stomach big time and it still wasn't right several months later. Very unsettled like IBS.

I got recommended these and they made such a transformation I still take one a day now and I have no intention of stopping.

Ahhhhhh it's back and it's just as bad as I remember it. The worst thing is my body's inability to regulate temperature, I'm either boiling hot or freezing cold, there is no middle ground.

I can't remember what food I ate the last time, but is there anything that stays down? I was thinking watery chicken soup?

I am recovering from it now. Never had it before, absolutely horrendous.

Started Thursday with vomiting, then the brown monsoon struck... I don't get too annoyed by Diarrhoea and Vomiting, but the abdo pain and fever/chills are very unpleasant.
Now Tuesday, and appetite slowly coming back... only able to eat small amounts of bland foods and feel absolutely wiped out.

I am 7lb down now I am rehydrated, very unpleasant.
