I am the OP, in a pointless attempt to hide my identity I created a
new account, but now can't seem to access it. Go me.

I hear what you are saying about not having crap in the cupboards, but
living at home still that's just not an option. There's always
something around, any biscuits, icecream, anything. But even worse if
there really is nothing I will drive especially and buy crap. It's
vile really.

I'd hazard a guess its a combination of boredom and having denied
myself for x period of time and it all comes crashing down. I've tried
in the past to treat myself more regularly with smaller amounts but it
inevitably turns bad and ill consume way too much.

Well, as long as you count the calorie intake, you can eat 100% snack st and lose weight. You'll feel awful and look terrible but lose weight. Some might say that you have an addiction and should seek help as would any alcoholic.

OP, I used to be the same and even now I lapse and do the same. I guess that if people know what I used to eat in a day, they'd be horrified. Whole packets of biscuits (Penguins, Breakways, Custard Creams), have been known to eat a whole loaf of bread (unsliced crusty, just with butter), whole madeira cakes, sponges etc.

I thought it was a comfort eating thing with me. I've lost around five stone now so vow never to go back to those days but now and again, will end up binging big time.

My fav was to drive the 5 mins to the local McD's....order a large Big Mac meal, Large 5 Chick Select meal (I need 2 meals as I wanted coke and a shake!) and a McFlurry......then a plain burger - because I wanted something I could nibble on the way home from the drive through!!!!!

Ahhhh, them were the days! Now when i "binge" by having a little too much granola and chocolate cereal sprinkled on my Greek Yoghurt - I dont worry too much!

Christ. Good tip re the plain burger, though. biggrin

A binge to me these days is having my normal portion of nuts and then grabbing a couple more from the bag.

Man, McD binges are the best!

Wrap of the day, nuggets/chicken selects and a big mac/quarter pounder with cheese, shake & apple pie.

I've had that a few times.

Also done the bit to munch on the way home. hehe

I'm more a donor* kebab man (if you hadn't already guessed). When I'm sitting in the car, driving home (yes, drive because I buy/eat doner kebabs sober eek ), I can really feel the craving feeling go mental as I smell the yummy badness on the passenger seat.

* - "donor" is probably closer to the truth about the contents. biggrin

You're not wrong.

I had a mixed 'chef's special' kebab a few weeks back without chips or bread... it cost £9.50 and it was ridiculously good - smothered in the awesome kebabery chili sauce.

Chicken kofte, chicken donor, lamb donor, lamb kofte and lamb shish with cabbage, lettuce, onion and a ton of jalapenos.

How much exercise are you taking, and how much sleep are you getting? Are you craving glucose because you've starved/exercised/underslept yourself into glycogen debt? Try eating more slow GI carbs and/or snacking on fruit through the day.

You know I'm only talking about the bad kebab (the brown elephant's leg) rather than grilled chicken, right? evil

I'm in the dying stages of training for an ironman triathlon (two weeks away) so have been exercising for anything up to 20 hours a week. Sleep is massively important to me, so I'm always aiming for at least 8 hours a night. With regard to glycogen debt, its highly likely that by thursday or friday I am in debt as that's when I seem to be most likely to binge if not the weekend.

I usually have a big bowl of porridge to begin the day, an apple mid-morning, then some sort of tuna or mackerel based salad for lunch. Sometimes a portion of fruit in the afternoon, and then a decent sized evening meal before I train.
