Just a quick update - Thursday night turbo session class, really really hard, average heart rate 172 max 184. 48 minutes with just 3 minutes of rest. Really on my limit.

Friday gym workout, did feel tired from the turbo session but a good workout nonetheless.

This morning, 104km on the bike, pretty hilly, 1,100m of climbing, nearly 31kph average.

This evening, set up a circuit at the gym involving 90kg bench press, dips, pull ups, lat pull downs and barbell curls (65lb). Rep range from 6 (bench press) to 20 (barbell curl). Tired.

Had a fantastic session on Friday.

Squats
Pause squats
Walking lunges one leg each way
Stiff leg deadlifts

Then went out and did 3 hours mountain biking.

Saturday was brutal conditioning class involving a lot of sprinting. Then I shovelled about 2 tons of st and then went straight into 3 hours of drumming.

I am ruined today!

Non-strength update!

Broke the 7 minute per mile for 5 miles at long last today (treadmill; I standby for the comments!). These little mental hurdles seem to be much harder to overcome than say breaking the 7.10 mins per mile.

I've bitten the bullet and am visiting a local powerlifting/weightlifting gym this week for a bit of an intro and tour with a view to joining. The guy that owns it is my weight class (82kg), benches 155kg, squats 260kg and deadlifts 275kg drug free. The other coaches hold various records too.

I'm now onto 5 weeks back after my hiatus.

Still seem to be struggling to get my strength back.

3 sets of DB press at 32kg, but I feel like i'm a good couple of months away from picking up the 40s again.

Being very careful not to eat too much though, so clean bulking (as best possible) so I guess I've got to be patient with strength gains.
