my gym uses fixed wight barbells max 45kg and the dumbells max out at 45kg each so it's a bit limited. the squat rack is one of those sliding pole 'things' which i dont like to use as the range of motion irritates my shooulders.

Yeah, the bar has hooks and runs on vertical rails. It gets used for bench press mainly as the gym has no bench Olympic bars.

This! I have heard many times that they restrict natural range of movement. I would hate that!

Did legs and easy de-load chest today:

Squats - 6 sets of 5-8 reps
Calf Raises - 5 sets of 12 reps
Front Squats - 4 sets of 5-8 reps

Bench Press - took it easier, so 6 sets of 8 slow and as perfect as possible reps with less weight than usual.

To be honest I'm ok with it for now. I only do leg press and no more than 100 kg squats due to some nasty injuries in my late 20's. My back is dodgy as well. If I was 30 again and going hell for leather I wouldn't train there. It's close to waitrose too which I frequent ever bloody day lol

Yeah! Need to get the Manchester 10k out of the way first! It's changed the way I train...I'm also doing it for a charity! Altzheimer's!
Hate the thought of that muscle burning off...but I'm in it now!

Terrible form but some brute strength there mate. When I was benching 140 kg for 8 reps I was dipping less than that but it's pretty scary dangling that sort of weight between your legs lol

Had one of those days where everything felt really heavy.

3x5 deadlifts
3x5 paused (5s) squats
3x6 deficit deadlifts
Hip extensions
Leg raises

Another 5kg to stick on everything next week, may prove to be a challenge.

I didn't think the form was that bad- what would suggest to improve?

Form looks fine to me DD. Couple of little things make it look a little scrappy, like a bit of hip flexion and a bit of a swing here and there but fundamentally good reps. Plus, nice lifting.

You've not been posting much lately - You've trimmed up a lot since the last vid I watched! Training going well?

Thanks, I'm about 9kg lighter than I was last November, training for a BB competition this November. Haven't been logging much- I don't record what I do in the gym, just have days for certain things, and aim add weight to what I'd done previously. Doing a lot too, so writing it all down would take a while!

Strength dropped off loads, but is going back up now- been on a calorie deficit since the start of December, a long diet, which sucks, but I've still a fair bit to lean out. Look the best I've looked just now, so pretty happy smile

I certainly didn't intend to dig. It just makes me shudder seeing the head moving and spine articulating. If you were a bit older like me you'd break something. I used to keep my chin down on my chest and go straight up, down. Cherrs

Why so low? Are you doing a comp?

I could eat more but for a few months by the time I cut booze and eat very clean, only carbs are vegetables it's 1500 odd. I've never eaten before midday anyway, can't stomach food in the morning. I'm not saying it's correct but it works for me. When I hit 78 kg I'll rebalance and go to maintenance which is closer to 3k per day.
