Some girl in the US wrote in her blog that she preferred that her fella doesn't look like he works out more than she does, and therefore is slightly chubby and out of shape - hence dadbod. It went viral with guys pleased that they no longer need to be ripped. Silly really. I think that's what happened anyway.

Did squats and bench today. Nothing special just some gauging as to where I currently am. Setting up a 1RM day later this week to give me my worksets.

Skwaats.

Second rep of my warmup with 60kg and hurt myself again.

Coach reckons it's mobility related. Has been improving but not enough to keep up with the increases in weight. Body was able to compensate for tightness and imbalances but not at this kind of intensity or volume.

Going to completely modify my organelles programme for the next while to address all this once and for all.

Have had a headache for most of the day, so was even contemplating not doing anything this evening and just going to bed.

However, today marks the first anniversary of me starting this new weights and diet routine, so I made the effort.

Glad I did, had two PB's tonight!

Squats - 5 sets of 5 reps - 80-120kg (High bar)

Bench Press - 4 sets of 5 reps with 65-95kg (each rep paused at chest before pushing back up)

1 set of 4 reps with 105kg

I didn't do 5 because I felt I still had enough in the tank to do a PB, so:

1 set of 2 reps with 115kg! I could not believe I actually managed 2 reps - should have tried 120!

Power Cleans - 8 sets of 2 reps - 62.5-80kg

Standing Barbell Press - 5 sets of 5 reps - 55-65kg (although last couple of reps on 65 were very questionable, with more jerking than pressing going on..)

Standing Barbell Curl - 3 sets of strict and 2 sets of cheats - 5 reps each

Deadlifts - 2 warm up sets with 110kg and then I tried another PB with 160kg. Failed the first time, but, annoyed with myself for failing, I got it together and tried again. This time I did it! Finally managed 160kg at last!

All in all, happy I decided to train today!

Thank you! The top of my arms and shoulders ache this morning, but my back doesn't! lol.

I even took my weightlifting shoes off for the deadlifts, that may have helped.

Will try and aim for 180kg for the end of the year..

Went in the gym for the first time since december and did Bench Press (aswell as squat and deadlift). I'm sure I used to be able to manage at least 1x5 of 70kg bench press. However today I failed on rep 3 of lifting just 50kg. I was quite suprised. Ended up doing the roll of shame.frown
