DD, if you did cut at this point, how much weight do you think you would have to drop. 10lbs?
Hmmm, not 100%... probably 7-8 kg to get stage ready. I may be totally over estimating that though, not sure what BF i'm at just now- but i'd expect it to be 6kg min.
To get under 10%, not that much TBH.

No cutting for a while though, just eating and growing. Cut starts in around 10 months.
Cool, I got the impression you were going to cut in a few months which I didn't think was the case. You on 28-3000 cals? Your arms have certainly put on some size

Currently having around 37-3800 cals, just upped this week from around 32-3300 as i'd not seen a shift on the scales for a few weeks. Waist size seems to be staying fairly constant, which is a good thing, but I'd like to see gradual weight gain along with that. Fortunately I just add more oats to my diet, which is simple to do, even if not exciting!

3800, that's a lot of oats. I bloody hate oakshehe when I was bulking which was a very long ago now ( late 20s) I always struggled with food in the morning. I used to force down porridge. I know you have it for any meal. It is simple as you say.

I know you love your oats, but why even more of something so nutritionally poor?
Surely meat or fish, even some fruit and vegetables would provide extra vitamins and minerals that oats lack.

I now have porridge oats for breakfast, they were the only mainstream cereal that contained hardly any sugar (most are around the 15g mark)!

Great mix of complex carb, fat and high protein (protein that can also be utilised, unlike many plant proteins); excellent source of fibre; lowers cholesterol and blood pressure, very calorie dense; taste great; easy to use; £0.65/kg

I can take a tablet for the extra vits and minerals that are lacking. (Though oats aren't the only food I eat)

Over all, Oats rock!

Coolio. I know you know what suits you far better than an old internet warrior (like me) and you have the results to prove it.
Never been too sure where the fibre thing comes from though. Relatively high in fibre compared to other grains yes, but way lower than fruit and veg. 100g of oats is c. 1.7g fibre, similar to kale at 2g and broccoli at 2.6g but compared with avocado at 7g, artichoke at 10g and almonds at 12g pretty low.

I know, I post too much tosh but it interests me.

Ease and cost are probably the main factors TBH, that and the relatively high protein.

If I'm going to be eating a lot, I want to keep it cheap- I'd rather use my cash to buy family related things for the wife/kids, and settle on oats for myself. It also avoids cooking and prepping anything, which can be a pain. Getting in a lot of calories each day can become expensive very easily.

I do love the taste though- 180g oats, 2 scoops whey, some raisins and diluting juice- tastes awesome. (Yesterday I put half a left over cheese cake in with it, that was filling!)

Cheers, I've been spending weeks doing accessory work to strengthen my weaknesses on the deadlift, think it's finally paying off.
Just got to put it all together and nail a 300 raw now biggrin

If you can pull 270/80 at the same speed as the 250, then 300 is in the bag.

Is it just me or is everyone getting really strong on deadlift these days?! We'll have a 400kg lifter in our gym before long (I stress, not me!).

Never going to be able to pull a bodyweight equivalent!
Huge number from a small guy though

I seem to overthink pulls when I go heavy and mess up, trying to build up so that I do an overwarm set as a PB for confidence.
I also need to learn how to grind.
July is probably when I'll attempt 300 smile

I've noticed strongman is becoming more known and bringing out the bigger pullers.
Still, not many can say they've pulled 400, probably why everyone is trying!
