in my last session i managed 5x6 100kg without much issue, giving myself 3min rest between sets.

today however i decided to do 5x10 on 80kg. 2min rests. after th final set felt so dizzy, bent over theee bin incase i threw up. dunno why but i decided to lay down for 1min which sent some of the blood back to my head. gave myself afew more minutes then carried on doing OHP then deadlift.
pretty pleaesed with myself for carrying on as I usually just leave when that happens.

Another quite long session..

Bench Press - 14 sets of 12-1 rep - pyramid style, got carried away I think - that took 40 minutes!
DB Fly's - 4x12
DB Pullovers - 4x12-8 reps

Wide grip pull ups - 4x12-10 reps
One Arm DB Row - 4x12-8 reps
T-Bar Row (with V-Pulley handle) - 4x12-8 reps
Seated wide grip cable Rows - 4x12-8 reps
Rack Pull - 4x5 reps
Reverse Grip Pull Up - 3x10

Leg Press - 5x12-8 reps

ETA - Since hurting my back a month or so ago, I have been on a slight calorie deficit while still training. Lost more weight but strength down on main lifts by about 10% from 5-6 weeks ago. Time to start eating a couple of hundred more cals per day..

Annihilated my hams today, was a great session, even more so as I trained alone and hit the same weight as with a group last time...

Leg Press 3x10@200, 1x8@280/300/320/340/360, 1x6@380/400kg, 2x10@200kg
Raised Sumo Deadlift with 40kg DB 5x10

Nice numbers on the Leg Press, Johnny!
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Thought I'd do an old fashioned power routine today, and tried Squats for the first time since hurting my back.
Also seem to have an ongoing shoulder problem, and it is limiting the amount of weight I can push..

Squats:
4 x warm up sets of 10 reps (40-70kg)
6 sets of 5 reps with 80-130kg Once the nervousness and oppressiveness dissipated, they actually felt OK and I did feel quite strong when powering back up.
3 x 1 rep each with 140, 145 and 150kg, for no good reason...

Leg Press - 4 sets of 12-8 reps

Bench Press - 6 sets of 5 reps (only up to 105kg)
Power Clean - 10 sets of 2 reps, and one rep with 90kg at the end
BB Strict O/H press - 5x5 (only up to 55kg, shoulder was killing me)!

Wide Grip Pull Up (bar behind neck) - 4 sets of 20-10 reps
Deadlift - 1x5 and 5x1
Pendlay Row - 7 sets of 5 reps (up to 100kg)

That was fun, apart from shoulder probs holding me back, pulling - strong, pushing - crap.

Cheers Chris!

Shoulders today:

Military Press 5x10@20kg, 5x10@40kg, 3x6@60kg, 1x1@70kg
Superset:
EZ Bar Upright Rows 5x10@40kg/ Lat Raises 5x10@14kg
Superset:
Face Pulls 5x10@27.5kg/Straight Bar Cable Front Raises 5x10@?? 15kg (didn't really look!)
Smith Shrugs 6x10@80kg

Never done face pulls, or front raises like that... Felt good.

Far too many reps on the press, meant I struggled with 1 rep at 70kg.

Today went better than expected, after a really bad 2 weeks strength is going up again smile
Incline dumbbells went from 120lb x2 last week to 120lb x8.
Squat stance I've been taking out wider and 230kg went up much quicker than it has previously.

Decided to get back into strongman, more fun than bodybuilding...

Tester sessions this week to see where my strength is>

-Standing Strict up to 105kg
-Axle Push Press up to an easy 115kg triple
-some tri & shoulder assistance stuff.

Reasonable start particularly as I've not really gone heavy on this type of stuff for a while, have a plan, so should make a decent U105 with a bit more mass on me smile

I must admit that I too love the power exercises a lot more than bodybuilding stuff. But at my age, I have discovered that if I do it for too long and push myself too hard with the 1RM's, my body likes to remind me of my age - and then spend the next couple of months having to do sub-maximal stuff with higher reps.. Dammit.

Yeah, Ben Thompson, he's made great progress this year- 200kg atlas stone for a double, 340kg dead among others. Think I've see your chalk at the gym- I may even get some stuff form you when I need!

Today>

Deadlift: 5x5 140kg
Power cleans: 3x5 100kg
BB Rows: 3x10 120kg
Chins: 3x failure

Deads were easy, but want to build slowly to avoid pain, i'll stick on 10kg on a week and see how it goes. 10 weeks should se me doing 5x5 @ 240kg, hopefully pain free.

Targets for this year:
-140kg + overhead
-back to 300kg dead
-Decent squat, maybe a raw 270kg.
-160kg/hand farmers walk

Have you picked up an injury?

I have an odd one, apparently not directly related to a specific gym incident. Pain at 'tie-in' of hams and glute, left side. Sort of at the 'arse bone'. It doesn't seem to impact my training much yet though.
