Do you chaps train alone ? I am benching up to 80 kilos pretty comfortably again but get a bit nervous putting big weight on when along in my shed/cabin gym without a spotter in case I struggle.
Yes, but I bought a full cage with spotter bars. I would not try and do PB's for Squats or Bench without the safety bars, or push for that extra rep when I have no clue if I'm going to lift it back up or now..

65kms on the bike yesterday felt really fresh despite the near 800km trek through the pyrenees, however the same cannot be said for my visit to the gym only managed a measly 120kgs for my bench (5 reps) everything else was hard going too!

I've hit 115kg the last couple of sessions when training alone. The mental barrier going over from 90 to 100 without a spotter was tough hehe

Yeah, just don't fail! I've gone up to 170kg with no one in the gym, went up fine.... I've also have had to roll it down my chest/stomach before, but that's about the worst that's happened. Never dropped it on my face/Neck, but don't often flat bench anymore anyway.

Lumpy 35km on the bike this evening, felt really good, 33.5kph average, then straight on to pull ups and dips at home - 120 and 240 respectively. All good.

Anyone with interest in the Olympia this year. I am if only to see what Levrone looks like. I know they all take some special creatine but this guy is 52 and 12 months ago weighed 90kg. He looked more like me offs. In 12 months he has packed on 70lbs. Staggering. What's that boy been eating.

I started a thread in "Sports" asking who would win the Olympia.

Why not contribute.

He has transformed himself however;

1. Those pics aren't 12 months apart.

2. He is a Mr O competitor, thus by definition he has to have incredible genetics.

3. He has been there before and thus has the muscle memory plus the knowledge, skills and experience.

4. What he is doing is incredible but he won't emulate the physique he displayed 20 years ago.

I don't really take any interest in the Mr O anymore, absolutely loved the 90s era though - Yates, Dillett, Wheeler and Ray, not to mention the awesome Victor Richards. These days they're just fat bloaters! No real characters left.

Anyways, 35km recovery ride, 31.5kph average, plus a Strava KOM as a brucey bonus.

To be fair the first pic is 2013 but his 2015 pics are worse. Phil heath will win again. I'll look up the thread. I was a teenager in NZ when Mike Quinn came to Golds gym (appearance for something).
Up close the guy was huge. I think he was top 20.

The Olympia this year is the first one that's got my attention for a while- line up is great, interested to see how Levrone comes in too. Also the classic division should be a good addition.

Looking forward to it.

Hit a new PR for deadlift last night - 187.5kg for 3 reps. Felt good actually and could have got another rep I think. 190kg next - aiming to get to 200kg smile

Evening group ride tonight, 46km with 650m of climbing, ended up being quite aggressive with a couple of guys trying to rip my legs off (almost worked). Feel good, in the gym tomorrow, can't wait.

Just done 10 miles on the bike (using a Minoura VFS 150) and managed a time of 27m 8s (an average of 22.1mph) - no idea whether this is good, bad or average.

Thats a fast average, but depends on what you were doing.
