Nice squat Smiffy- stick some wraps on and get 300 done!

First day of a new split today>

Bench: 130kg x12
Push Press: 100kg x9
Dips: +60kg x13
Chins: +20kg x10
18" deads: 220kg x10

Decent.

Anyone else always check Diddly's lifts to see whether they could get one rep at his 12 RM? Humbling.

(I think I could get 1 chin up with a 20kg plate...but that doesn't really count)

I think it would take me another three years before I get anywhere near Didely's weights, that's six years constant training. But then, Didely would have raised the bar and be lifting more after those three years! It seems that once you get to a certain point, progress slows down to a trickle, so I think in years, rather than months for certain goals.

Just a quickie session today, as I just wanted to get my Squats done, and had a long session yesterday..

Squats - 3x12-8 reps, 4x5 reps with 130 and 1x5 with 135kg
High Pull - 5x10-5 reps
DB Cross-bench Pullover - 4x16-12 reps
Triceps Rope Pull Downs - 4x12-9 reps
Standing EZ BB Curls - 4x12-8 reps

Bench - 105kg x 4
5 x 5 @ 80kg

Lighter weights feel easier than before, but 105 still takes it out of me.

Squats: 7 x 3 @ 100kg (60 seconds rest). I like these a lot.

Chin ups; tricep push downs and 1 set of t-bar rows because I couldn't face another set of chins.

I should be good for 280 raw anyway though! biggrin



Not my training session but just got back from visiting Graham Hicks who pulled a 400kg raw PB for me on a deadlift bar I've been working on biggrin
He made it look pretty easy too!!!
Can't wait to get back lifting heavy smile

Time for me to have a complete rest for a week or two. My muscles are begging for a it. Thus I went for a 1hr hilly trail run late morning...I'm suffering now, it was a bit hot!

Today>

Preacher curl: 55kg x 18
Hammer curl: 25's x 15
Calf press: 180kg x 20 (10+ sec negatives)
GHR, red bands: 15
Pause squat (beltless Highbar) - 180kg x 10 (vid on my insta)

Good session. Most things involved rest/pause reps at the end.
Arms feel strong, so do legs.

Wedding in 52 days so upping cardio. Fasted HIIT sprints, 7:30am followed by weights at 5pm.

Lowering calories gradually, which is having a negative effect on the strength.

There is some evidence to suggest that fasted cardio is a very bad idea in terms of maintaining lean mass. You get a very high cortisol spike from the training, and levels stay high for quite a while. You might get better results reducing calories more generally but not around workouts.

Probably did just a little too much today, but felt fine at the time...

Back Extensions - 2x20

Squats - 3x12-8 (40/80/120kg), 4x5 with 135kg and 1x5 with 140kg
Bench Press - 6x12-3 reps

High Pull - 5x12-5 reps
Power Clean - 8x2 reps
Standing BB strict press - 4x12-8 reps

Deadlift - 3x1 and then 1x5 reps
BB BOR - 4x12-8 reps
Wide Grip Pull Up - 4x12-8 reps
Seated Pulley Row - 4x12-8 reps

And, because Summer's around the corner, the shallowness in me made me do...

Triceps Rope Push Downs - 4x12-8 reps
Standing EZ BB Curls - 4x12-8 reps

Totally spent, 52 sets was a bit silly in hindsight..

And you've already got a great physique, whilst mine's still a work in progress.. hehe
