Today>

18" deads: 260kg x 8
Bench: 132.5kg x 10
Push press: 100kg x 10
Dips: +65kg x 12
Chins: +30kg x 8

stretching.

That was that. Nice to pull some decent weight from 18", doing them first was a good idea, but it did impact on the rest of the session.

I watched you do those Deads on Instagram, Didely (annoyingly, I still can't post from PC), impressive as always.

Today was pure hypertrophy stuff, but still quite tough after yesterday's session too..

Back Extensions - 2x20

Squat - 5x12-8 reps (4x12 and 1x8) - no knee wraps for the first time ever and no belt, gotta stop being a poof...
Leg Press - 5x12-3 reps (3x12, 1x8 and 1x3) - I did wear knee wraps for these..

CG Bench Press - 5x20-8 reps
Weighted Dips - 5x12-9 reps

Wide Grip Pull Ups - 4x12-8 reps
T-Bar Row - 4x12-10 reps (Moved car out of the way so I could use 7' bar, much better than the 5')
Seated Pulley Rows (Reverse grip) - 4x12-8 reps

Face Pulls - 4x12-9 reps

Pulley Preacher Curls - 5x20-8 reps

Thanks. I think insta only lets you post from phones, though may be wrong. I'm not that tech savvy!

The deads moved well today, and pain free too, which is always a plus. More to come, working back up to 300kg, maybe....

yes, I think you're right - but I downloaded and installed the 'PC' version of Instagram, thinking it would allow me to upload pics and vids from my PC, but no such luck.

Deads for me is so frustrating, after I attempt a new PR, it takes absolutely ages for my lower back to fully recover, making heavy Deads few and far between, and I hate that!
I am sure that we could knock out lots of sets of upper and middle back stuff almost daily and have no real problems, but the lower back in contrast takes an age to recover! For me, anyway..

Elimination Circuit

Squat - Press Up - Power Clean - BB Push Press - Chin Up
Start on 5 reps, add a rep each round, 30 seconds rest 'twixt circuits, when you miss a rep, you drop that exercise and continue on.
193 total

also did some ankle drops, ball squeezes and vacuums.

Semi-deload this week but I still struggled! Drove to Newcastle & back from london this weekend, with a 2 year old, which might explain it!

Bench:
5 x 5 @ 80kg w 60 seconds rest.
Only had a couple of reps left each time, which sucks.

Supposed to be squatting but no chance of getting a rack so did:
3 reps each leg alternating forward & back lunges (same leg) x 5 with 24 kg dumbells.
Bloody killed my quads, so probably a good thing to throw into my workouts.

Chins; tricep stuff.
Did my first 24 chins in 3 sets and then tried to do the remaining 26 in 5 mins. Got 24. Pathetic given that I could do 32 in 5 mins a few months back. Must do more chins.

Incline DB Press 3x10@30, 1x6@40, 1x6@30kg
Bench 5x8-10@60kg
Incline Bench 5x10@40kg
Single Arm Side-On Machine Chest Press 5x5/side@30kg
Decline Cables 5x10@12.5kg/side

Seemed to hurt my right shoulder (again!) pressing the 40s. Second set just wouldn't happen. Had to take it easy after that.

I bought a couple of pairs of these, much quicker and easier to use between sets, even take a pair with me to the commercial gym..

My 21 year old step daughter has recently started weight training, something that I never in my wildest dreams thought would happen. And she is really enjoying it! She loves the fact that she can add a little weight at each workout. She does Tuesday and Thursday at her local gym with a personal trainer, and at the weekends, she does a session here, a 5x5 routine. This was her first session taken by her PT:

So that's all of my immediate family doing some sort of weight training now!

My gym bought a load of these- none of them work any more- all stretched out and don't grip.
They then got these - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Aluminium-Olympic-Collar-... - which so far work great- good option.

For my money, i'd get the aluminium ones above, or these: http://www.sshealthfoods.com/product/1488/all/all/... Cheap, last forever, but a bit big

Cheers, have ordered a pair from Amazon!

ETA - I only use them for barbells, as I have the 1" DB's with the awful spinlock collars, but the plates aren't changed as much as BB stuff...

Great stuff. She'll learn a lot more from you than the PT, and she'll make some progress!

Well done, Jamie!

Squat and deadlift look much better than bench. Are you recovering from a shoulder injury?
