OP, Go and see you GP and if he gives you anti depressants, take them.

I have depression and they really help.

Just to say good luck OP.

In my experience, the worse thing you can do if you have depression is bottle your feelings up, don't be afraid to talk to anyone who will listen.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Just writing that on here has made me feel a lot better. Some time next week I'll go and see my GP and hope for the best.
