We had a baby boy orb my 12th born at 1.06am weighing 7lb 6oz. It's our first and we were all home by 10am that day so all went very well.

Life changing, and adjusting to broken sleep well lol. After 2 weeks paternity, it's back to work tomorrow. Not looking forward to it as got used to seeing him all day.

Main thing is,all are well. Good luck people

Just been watching the 'Secret Life of Babies' programme on ITV. Babies like sports car it seems! biggrin Sweeet!! A good excuse if any to get one now!bouncedriving

Apparently the hum of the exhaust at circa 80-85dB is soothing to them and sends them to sleep smile

Me and my missus are early in on our pregnancy at the moment, she's quite clued up, I'm slow to start but will catch up, learning all sorts about a baby's growth and development in the early stages, really interesting.

Our little boy has a scratch on his cornea about 2mm long. It's been there since he was born but back then I just thought he had a hair in his eye, I've only noticed it again today as the sun's out and the light was catching it and on further inspection realised it was actually a scratch. Cause for concern?

I would get it checked. Scratches on eyes can scar or become infected (I am referring to animal eyes tbh but same principals apply!)

Start with GP and see if they suggest referral or if ok not to treat (think. I'd prefer to have it monitored it at least). Scratches can be uncomfortable so it's good that it doesn't seem to be a bother smile

Yeah we'll take him to the GP but it's weekend so wanted some opinions on it. I have a feeling it's been there since birth so it's possibly not something recent.

I have moved over from the 'Difficulty getting pregnant' thread. After years of trying we were surprised to learn that we are expecting twins.

Mrs Lotus82 has been in a whole world of pain for the last 7 weeks, crippled and mostly bed bound with severe sickness. Hopefully will ease in the coming weeks.

Any advice for twins? They will be our first.

Had the really sad news yesterday that the last couple from our NCT class due to give birth lost their baby just before he was born. cry

Apparently his heart stopped sudenly during a prolonged labour.

I feel absolutely gutting for them as they are a lovely couple and my wife and I bumped into them in the supermarket 2 days before they were going in to be induced.

It's been great hearing news from each couple as their babies arrive and we have all become really good friends and meet up regularly. We hadn't heard from this couple for several weeks and everyone was fearing the worst which unfortunately turned out to be the case.

No idea how you would go about recovering from something like this. There must be reminders everywhere for them, nursery decorated and furnished, clothes and teddy bears waiting. It must be heartbreaking.

It could very easily have been us as my wife had a very difficult labour.

Although I already know how lucky we were to have a fabulous healthy daughter this just makes me even more grateful. I won't be complaining about nightfeeds or dirty nappies ever again.

RIP little one.

My Mrs. has also had this, not much fun is it.... dont be afraid to go an 'hospitalise' yourselves.... a week on IV drip food made the world of difference to my wife. Have they given her any medication, we have found that Primperan took the edge off things.
Fist GP we saw prescribed a drug that, after a few minutes on Google, threw up many scare stories. Even the NHS website stated clearly not to use when expecting. Second GP was beyond useless, after Mrs Lotus82 described how she had not kept food or water down for 50+hrs the doc said 'what do you want me to do about it?' and sent us packing with no advice.

We know we can always go to an Emergency Gyno unit if needed. Ice cubes seem to do the trick. When she's hydrated she's a different person.

Extremely said news.

Has the potential to be one of the hardest roads to go down this old pregnancy malarkey. Can start with issues getting pregnant (can last for years and is emotionally destructive) and end with the worse thing possible.

So sad.

What was the name of that drug (out of interest?)

Due to the complications we had last time around, we are under gyno care only at the hospital, and that makes a big difference to the quality of care.
Forgive me, I can't recall the name right now. Still have the scrip at home and will look later.

The gyno team do seem fantastic. Had a couple of experiences with them recently and all has been smooth sailing, they could not do more to put us at ease and addressed our concerns.

Think it may be go time for us now too. Due Date was Monday, about 5pm yesterday the contractions started and have slowly been getting bigger. Poor Mrs Pooky didn't sleep a wink and is doubled over at home whilst I'm at work (she forced me to go as she was sick of my sympathetic looks!).

Fingers crossed, can't wait to meet the little Pookling!

My wife got some 4D scans done this week (our 2 year anniversary, and so a surprise gift to me of these photos) of our son at 27w3d.

Very much looking forward to his arrival now! All is going well, although he's at the top of the healthy weight/size measurements, so is going to be a big delivery it seems.

Great!

Our 20 week scan is next week.

Progressing well here too.... no signs yet of whatever caused it to wrong last time.
I actually feel like I can start relaxing and enjoying this pregnancy now. I imagine you'll feel the same next week!

Congratulations to parents of new arrivals, happy times
