Keep an eye on the movements of the baby, if your partner has severe headaches with high blood pressure take her to hospital.
My wife had all of the above plus traces of protein in her urine and no baby movement for 24hours, and the surgery midwife said not to worry. Unsure of the midwife, I took my wife to hospital and she was kept for three nights as she had pre-eclampsia so we needed to monitor her blood pressure and my son thankfully it was consultant lead after that!
Non worrying things! Prepare an overnight bag for mum to be as you can go from a night at home to a night on the maternity ward very quickly

Thanks for the advice, overnight bag has been packed since the kidney issue will keep and eye on the headaches.
Had the 28 week midwife check up yesterday, urine checked and blood pressure all fine but she now has a fundal measurement of 33 (it was 24 at 25 weeks) so a growth spurt going on.
He is destined to be big I am 6'4" and Mrs G is 6'
Thanks for your reply Coco H. A tough decision for you, one I hope we/I can make should it come to that. As much as a second child would be loved, I cannot bear to think that I would end up down a path of obsession when we have been blessed already with a beautiful boy. It may be different if we had no children. If he is to be an only child (though too early to think that just yet) then his siblings will just have to be of the four legged variety .
Good luck to all those on here, I hope it all goes well, I am not going to become bitter about this and I am still genuinely excited and happy for everyone who are soon to be parents either for the first time or again over the coming months

I think you're a long way off that! (I've three already and was told medically to stop after the first one. I think mother nature has caught up with me now.) I found the secret to staying happy and not bitter was having a good friend to confide in - we've both been in the same place with it all and both given up. Good luck to all on this thread - so much happiness ahead.
Given we've very nearly run out of 2013 I'm quite surprised that this thread hasn't been more employed!
Am delighted to say that I'm definitely on the 2014 train now, via adoption. Should all happen sometime in mid-late spring. Due dates don't really work the same way when your kid was born a year ago.
ETA: very likely end of March for me.

End of March for us.
All going well so far and have another midwife appointment tonight.
Really need to get cracking on preparations after Christmas as so far we only have a Moses basket, one babygrow and a teddy bear from Harrods
In our defence we have just moved house so it's all been a bit chaotic but shouldnt take long to get the nursery ready for the new arrival.

Mrs L had her appointment with the midwife on Friday at 24 weeks, everything fine and dandy.
Nursery carpet got fitted on Friday too ready for delivery of furniture.
We got the sonographer to write the sex of the baby on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope. As we always go to my best mates parents for Xmas day we have wrapped the envelope in with his sister's present so we will find out what we are having on Xmas morning!

Well after thinking that we might squeeze onto the end of the 2013 thread, looks like I might be one of the first in the 2014 thread! 5 days til due date, but expecting (or hoping) it to be here before that!
Sex and curries help to entice babies out Update from camp Gumbo!
Mrs Gumbo's waters broke on the 28/11/13 and little baby Elliott appeared 11 days later on the 9th of December 6 weeks early!
The last few weeks have been interesting to say the least but he was 5lb 12oz and we only spent 8 days in hospital and had a great Christmas together as I had 2 weeks of work.
Good luck to all those due in the next few weeks it is challenging but I am loving every minute of it.

Epic chubby cheeks! All is well with the wife although she is getting a lot bigger and starting to get a bit uncomfortable. Sleeping seems to be the worst for her but other than that all seems to be well.
31st March is D Day. I hope ours doesn't come too early as I'm in Ireland for the 6 Nations at the start of February!
