don't even get me started on pushchairs, i thought choosing a new car was difficult.

Anybody got any suggestions/recommendations?
I feel your pain - I've bought cheaper cars!!!

Ms DB is in week 29 at the mo' - all going normally so far, although she's had gestational carpal tunnel syndrome, which has been a total ball ache for her, but like she's said, if that's the worst that happens, she'll (and I'll) be totally OK with that smile

On the pushchair front, we've just literally got a Quinny Buzz . . . got it second hand as all the bits normally were about 800 quid new yikes but it's a pretty neat piece of kit. Worth looking at, especially if you haven't got a massive boot in the car.

We had 31 week scan yesterday and everything is going well, baby is measuring 4lb 2 and has his head pointing downwards.

I'm no expert but does 4lb seem high for 31 weeks??

First time commenting in one of the threads, after a spot of advice really.

Me and Mrs Rat have been trying to conceive for a couple of years now, some months working out the dates religiously and some not, anyway no joy yet.

So Ive made an appointment at my GP tomorrow to make sure things are working for me as they should.

Anyone else been through this and care to comment?

Thanks

Less than 7 weeks for us now.

Saying the time left in weeks rather than months has really made it hit home that it's not that far away now.

All going well so far though (tough wood).

In the middle of NCT classes and have the breast feeding one on Saturday (luckily not a 6 Nations weekend!).

From what I know and I'm sure everyone will have a similar tale of friends in this situation. Forget all about it. Book a holiday in the Sun for 2 weeks total relaxation. Mrs is pregnant on return from holiday.

Best of luck dude.

I have and haven't - I can't have kids the ordinary way (the nature of the problem is such that it's rather straightforward, unlike for most) - I've known this since I was about 20, I'm now 28 and in the final stages (touch wood etc etc) of adopting.

There is ALWAYS a way to become parents. Always. Hang onto that. If being a mum and dad is what's right for you, you WILL be able to make that happen.

Just try and keep life light hearted if you can - it is hard, but stick together and try not to take it too seriously. Getting a break is a really good suggestion. If you miss a day or a cycle, don't make it a big deal. That thread was a really good read.

We went through similar - tests etc. to see if everything was as it should be - I had an operation to try and improve our situation. It didn't work directly, so we had to try other methods. It was really hard - we'd been together and married a long, long time, lots of friends had got married later than us and have kids now at school, younger siblings had had kids, insensitive people asking us whether we were ever going to have them.

This morning though we had a 12 week scan which all looks fine, so fingers crossed - was incredible to see a little 5.5cm long human kicking away and even looking at us.

Good luck.

Penultimate NCT class tonight.

Wife had a midwife's appointment this morning and apparently our baby has a big ar$e. Not quite sure how she knows that but might have to name it J-Lo now if it's a girl biggrin

It's a long time since we were at that stage, but pretty sure that if you've been trying for 2 years with no success your GP will refer you to your local ACU. They'll run a few tests on both of you to see if anything is obviously amiss, if not the next likely stage could be a prescription of Clomid. Seems to be the first port of call for most couples. It will increase her ovulation, for about 6 months to see if results are any better.

We ended up needing IVF, 3 rounds 2 of which were ICSI, before conceiving our twins. We've now also got a 6 week old singleton, without any help and totally out of the blue!

Good luck!

Now got a 'due date' for beginning the handover of daughter, from foster carers: a week tomorrow! yikes

Am beyond delighted. Although still not entirely sure if I'm a parent of 2014 or 2012...

Well I've sold the Elise and bought a Honda Insight. Can only mean one thing...

It's a boy!

Arrived 3rd March after a less than 4 hour labour - not bad for a first child, good work wife!
