Hi Ross, Get your "just giving page" up and running and lets see how much you can raise. You have a great number of friends on here so a few quid from everyone and it will soon add up.

Thanks guys.

I've just set up a page on just giving and my chosen charity is one that Mr Grundy has worked with, brain tumour support.

The event I have chosen is a South Downs bike ride of 72 miles called the Mega Meon. I did the 100 mile route about 2 years ago but considering what's happened, I'll do the medium one of 72 miles. It's not for a while yet... July 25th.... But this will allow me time to get fit.

https://www.justgiving.com/Ross-Fripp

I've no idea how much to aim for with raising money, but we'll just see what happens. I'll post on Facebook as well as try and see if I can get something set up St work.

Any donations will be much appreciated, and if anyone is interested I can keep you up to date on my training.

Back to work a week today.... Time to go and get my life back!

Edit - and suggestions/changes to the just giving page much appreciated.

There you go Ross. Good luck with 75 miles, I hope it's downhill.

A huge thank you. As I've said to Geoff, the generosity and kindness to those on here is really remarkable.

Throughout my recovery in and out of hospital this thread has been a constant source of help and guidance to help keep me straight and level. For that I thank every one of you whether you've posted here once or one hundred times. It's been a tough journey, made easier by you all and with your help we can hopefully make a difference to anyone else who suffers anything similar.

Whilst I hope these sort of problems never happen to anyone, unfortunately they will keep occurring, but I hope this thread may yet prove useful to anyone going through similar (be it a brain tumour or anything else which can be related). I hope my open approach to this has provided insight to those who have followed, and if any of you know someone who may need someone to talk to about such issues then feel free to point them in my direction if you think it may help.

I will endeavour to keep this thread updated with my progress with respect to mri scans (got one tomorrow, no idea when results will come through.... Just hope it's clear which I'm sure it will be), my return to work and also with regards to this cycle event. I've paid for my entry and all is sorted with that!

I have spoken to my boss at work and he has agreed to sort something out with respect to setting something up to allow our clinic patients to donate as well as putting it up on the clinics Facebook page.

So.... Back into proper exercise, I'm starting a phased return to work Monday 27th..... Time to go and get my life back!

Good effort with bike ride plan Ross. I'm planning to do a 70 mile sportive (my first one) in May, I see yours is two miles further though so hats off to you!! Rule 5 in action.

Just did a lovely 20 mile ride in gorgeous weather around the South Downs (I live on the outskirts) so made sure I had plenty of hills! Felt so nice!

MRI scan in an hour.

Many thanks!

MRI scan was absolutely fine. Had to have a few done with the contrast dye as well but that wasn't a problem. Won't get the results for a couple of weeks yet apparently, and I have no idea how I'll get them! Whether it'll be a phone call, email or an appointment. All I'm hoping is that I DON'T get a phone call in the next day or 2. You all know what happened last time when they said I'd get the results in a few weeks and they called me the next working day..... hehe

Hopefully that's my last scan or appointment needed for a whole year! biggrin

Can't describe how happy I'm feeling now, things are finally setting into place. Just need to make sure I don't increase the hours too quickly at work and get too tired. My boss has told the receptionists at work to ensure they don't make me too busy to start with.

Once again, big thanks guys! You have all helped more than I can possibly say!

Wee donation made, amazing story with a great ending.

Kind of glad i read it all in last couple of days, if i'd read it real time think i would have been pretty stressed out waiting on updates! ;-)

Thank you! I'm not the one being inspirational here, it's all you kind people who are donating! Absolutely remarkable.

I remember some time back in February or so I read this thread from start to finish and it was quite eye-opening, looking back now to the tail end of 2013 and now knowing what was causing all the sickness etc is a strange feeling! Still, it's great not being sick all the time biggrin

so did 20 miles on the bike Tuesday, 4.2 mile run Wedesday and another 25 miles on the bike yesterday. Am torn as to whether to do anything today because I should probably have a rest day, but I'm on a course for work all day tomorrow and so won't be able to do anything tomorrow; I'm on the course for the morning and early afternoon sunday so will have the chance to do something then.

Can't believe donations....over £3300 now biggrin

Also got a letter through from the DVLA officially revoking my license frown was inevitable though, of course!
