This thread highlights how incredibly poor my squat is.

1RM at 81KG:

Bench: 115KG
DL: 170KG
Squat: 120KG

This isn't helped by my, and I quote my dear father's inspirational words, 'legs like a sparrow trapped in a plastic bag'.

Best way to sort our sparrow legs is more squats.
I am similarly affected, or was. A few years squatting even at my age has made a massive difference. I'm not even lifting heavy either - 1RM a few years ago was 145kgs. I was rather 'larger' then though at 100kgs.

All pb's are:

Squat - 100kg
Deadlift - 140kg
Bench - 92.5kg (proud of that one)

I weigh 71kg so not a chance in hell of making the 1000lb club laugh

235kg squat, 137.5kg bench, 240kg Dead- 612.5kg - all done over the last couple of months @ 90kg BW. (best from about a 18 months ago was 245/135/265 - 645kg @ 90BW)

The 235 squat was a double, so still to get a 1RM there; bench will also see a new PR over the next few weeks as I've actually started to train it; I daren't try more deadlifting as it's sore....

All joking apart, we have some strong lifters here. clap

All the more incentive for me to join your club.

I'll be doing some measurements and sums this weekend to work out how and when I should be able to join you.

A smidge over 5'10"...

It's all relative however....I'm not particularly happy with my total just now. 250/150/250 would suit me fine however... squat/bench should be doable this year, but can't see me pulling a decent deadlift for a long time, they give me the fear. I may try some kind of build up though, see if it hurts or if it's plausible.

Pvapour has by a very long shot the best body I've seen on PH in terms of not only size but also condition.

He really knows his stuff!

Homo. wink

I'll get there, one day... diet's st at the moment though.

I've got decent genetics, just need to make the most of them.

Seeing some of the younger lads in the gym on their cycles does make me contemplate it but I want to stay natural.

I'm always stuck between putting on weight and going for pure strength/hypertrophy and getting better condition and leaner. I never feel decided on what I want - unless I start cycling and then I can build mass and stay relatively lean.

Oh well, doing 5/3/1 now and will eat at maintenance or there abouts.

hehe

Credit where its due buddy!

I have the ability to gain muscle and strength very easily but terrible genetics mixed with often poor health.

I also look very blocky even when I'm very lean due to my shape (I'm not particularly lean at the moment @ ~15%)

I don't worry about any of that stuff though as I love to go training and thats enough for me smile
