I'll get there, one day... diet's st at the moment though.

I've got decent genetics, just need to make the most of them.

Seeing some of the younger lads in the gym on their cycles does make me contemplate it but I want to stay natural.

I'm always stuck between putting on weight and going for pure strength/hypertrophy and getting better condition and leaner. I never feel decided on what I want - unless I start cycling and then I can build mass and stay relatively lean.

Oh well, doing 5/3/1 now and will eat at maintenance or there abouts.
I have stty genetics (if you buy into the wrist/ankle measurement thing for max natural potential - 6.5" wrists, 8" anlkes!), but will never never ever mess with steroids or prohormones. It really is not worth it in my opinion.

Crossfit have a similar test called the Crossfit Total...only shoulder press replaceing the BP. All must be done in order with only 3 attempts at each and all in same 30 minute session. Thats better than a week apart I feel. Mine come to 880 lbs for your set.

Meatball had the heaviest bench on here, I think he could front squat my PB high bar squat too.
Pugwash had a decent deadlift too.

3 rep PBs this year...

DL 225kg
Squat 200kg
Bench 130kg

Total= 555kg for 3 rep maxes smile

I've cut some weight since then, and I'm not as strong atm so working back up, 12kg lighter. (81kg atm, compared to 93kg bw for those lifts)

ETA: About the same time I hit those 3 rep maxes, my 10 rep maxes hit a total of 470kg biggrin Infact it was a change to 10 rep work that saw my strength take a bit of a jump up.

Squat 220kg, Deadlift 235kg, Bench 162.5 (160kg paused bench). = 617.5 / 615 kg. So about 1350lb all @99kg

Want to be getting towards a 660kg total for next summer though biggrin

Identical to me. I want everything at once. I don't think I could ever be a pure bodybuilder though as the workouts don't interest me but I do want to look as good as possible...

I've begun carb cycling because my weekends are all over the shop; I've been at home two weekends in the last 9.

That is a very good bench relative to the other two.

I'd say it was a weak squat in comparison to the other two smile

Actually you are about perfect if you use the 3/4/5 formula - 120/160/200 would be it

For my deadlift my bench is 30kg below where it should be. :-(

385kg or 847lb for me at 86kg BW.

135kg DL
130kg Squat
120kg Bench

sounds like a good target to aim for might give this a go.

this thread doesnt appear to have gone anywhere but slight update on how I am getting on.

before 86kg BW
135kg DL
130kg Squat
120kg Bench (This was wrong, done on a smith machine, actual was 100kg)

now 8 weeks later 89kg BW

155kg DL
150Kg Squat
117.5kg Bench

really flipping proud of this acheivement, all ive changed is getting a decent all in one protein and really pushing the training till i want to vomit

In that time due to a change in technique and improving strenght ive got my over head press from 55kg to 75kg for 1 rep.

also keeping it on topic means i now have a total of 422.5kg or 929.5lbs so getting much closer! pushing to get there for xmas

Great work and nice bump. thumbup
Seriously impressive gains.

I'm two months in and still a long way off but progressing slowly.

Calculated 1RM based on current 5x5 lifts:

Deadlift 145kg
Squat 120kg
Bench press 82kg
Total: 347kg (760lb)

(76%)

In now 250kg squat, 140kg bench, 240kg Dead- 630kg (up from 612.5kg)

Bench will be up soon, deadlift too if it doesn't hurt.

What is it that hurts about deadlifting?

Some sciatic type pain that causes me to scream on occasion, not been too bad recently, but paranoia is always there when I deadlift, so I've not been doing it often. I'll maybe do a few singles tomorrow though, see how it goes.

I bet your deadlift 1RM is higher than you calculated based on 5x5

Ah. Deads are an exception with SL5x5 - 1x5 only.
120 flew up last time I did them and plenty left over but that was with straps which I don't use ordinarily, nor do I intend to in the near future.
