Sorry do hear it's not the best for you just now jam.

I am out of surgery and in high dependency ward. Lovely staff and on morphine and paracetamol pain relief.

All went well so just really tired now sure cheeky pic at some point. Possibly of nurses lol.

Comparemyscar.com! Glad all has gone good for you dude.
Your pain relief seams quite sedate, they jacked me up something chronic before I came round! Ketamine morphine and pethidine oh and an epidural for good measure! Felt like I was a smack rat on a bad come down!

Think I got injections in side of abdomen too so that helps. Just lack of sleep that's a pest, getting some bursts but not tired just symptoms of it

Fentonil is pretty good as well

Glad it went well

I had the same a few years ago after an emergency admission due to a perforation.

Oddly an old school mate had exact same thing as you and was telling me which nurses to look out for lol

At the moment nohing as everything has failed/ had serious side effects so just pain killers (tramadol) and loperamide to try slow me down a bit and a touch of citalopram just to keep me smiling lol.

I'm due to start Ustekinumab once the hospital has got the funding/ethics committee clearance as it's not currently licenced for use on crohns.

Last resort is all out and intravenous feeding which ain't any good at 30 years old!
Really hope you get the Ustekinumab pdq and it helps. Now personally believe biological drugs are the way forward with crohns. Current lack of research is totally unacceptable!!
Wishing you well smile

All the best with the recovery Rick.

My wife is now 5 months pregnant with our first child, and a few months ago had a severe flare up after being in remission for a couple of years. She has been on Aza but developed neutropenia last year so that had to stop ASAP. Also she cannot take inflixi as she has latent TB so the only options is the pred which she is currently on but isn't making a huge difference. After a lengthy meeting with our specialist, the only real option is surgery like what you have just undertaken, lower bowel and the ileum, but this won't happen until well after the birth.

Cheers Eskilo I hope all goes fine with the newborn and your Mrs :-).

Starting to get tender now and morphine button getting more use. However I believe the word Tremadol has been mentioned!

Tramadol is an odd one. I find it doesn't really block the pain more you just don't care you are in pain and it doesn't register. Plus I find even with the Crohns if I take too much I get bad constipation. Plus sometimes the tramadol can make the pain worse

My painkiller of choice is buscopan. It's not really a painkiller so much as an anti spasmodic. It is very good for me at curing the cramping pains I get. It doesn't get rid of the pain itself so depends what is causing your pain.

The thing I have found is what works one time doesn't always work another. I have quite a large collection of painkillers

Out of interest and sorry if you are aware or not relevant but are you a smoker. I stupidly carried on for years despite being told if would help. More being stubborn but finally gave up 9 months ago and it has helped massively. Regret not giving up years ago

Got to agree with you on that .

I must try Buscopan as that is the sort of pain that I get.

I really rate buscopan as it means I can work as well. The last time I took tramadol and phoned my boss I couldn't really hold a proper conversation

You can buy it over the counter but can react with some other meds so best to check I would say.

Well its the proper pain/drug specialist that suggests tramadol. I find bus company never works for me.

Bus company hehe does sweet fa for me too Rick!

Couple of tramadol and a couple of paracetamol and a hot water bottle/one of the dogs seams to take the edge off.

Well once I'm recovered Mrs 1138 and I are getting guinea pigs so one of them could warm lol. Worst bit now is the pain as it gets worse as drugs wear off. Pain button helps but had a fresh blood pat have under dressing but not pooling but was worrying. Nurses have been fab though and relax me a lot. God I need a sleep though. 1 hour at most just now.
