@V8mate, shouldn't be, only had them checked last month during full body checkup.

Cut dairy out for the last few weeks as I thought it was causing upset stomach. Soy chocolate milk is the only new 'food' I've been having

I thought you were worried about your T levels?

You should be avoiding soy like the plague.

anyone suggest why my sweat smells of ammonia? confused
Ammonia is a by product of the conversion of excess protein into glucose (gluconeogenesis). If your sweat actually smells of ammonia, you are consuming substantially more protein than your body can use.

I did not know that. Just checked online and just 4 more bottles of the bloody stuff!
Will have to buy almond milk then.

also only eating 240g protein and I read it's due to a low carb diet so the protein is being burnt off instead?

Soy is full of oestrogen, and is very bad. Unless you are a middle aged woman.

As to the low carb thing - it depends how low, and also what the amino acid profile of the proteins you are consuming is - some aminos get converted to glucose, and others into ketones. Unless you are eating under 50g/day of total carbs, are in a huge calorie deficit, or are doing huge amounts of cardio, the chances are that you are just eating far more protein than your body can actually use, and your liver is busily converting it into stuff it can burn as fuel or store as fat.

There is a lot of deeply unscientific bullst in the bodybuilding/strength training world about how much protein you need.

Yes I agree, I've cut my protein down massively. I do wonder if it's also due to lack of water, yesterday morning I hadn't drank much as well.

There's articles with conflicting information about wether or not soy does or doesn't.

I've had a long decision however and come to decide that if the male doctor I'm seeing on the 15th (who is excellent btw) cannot help me - wether it's through TRT or nutrition etc - then I'm going to look at taking a low dose (enough to see gains but not enough that's classed as abuse) of testosterone.

I will try and exhaust all other options but having a think about my training over the last year, my gains have been ridiculously small :/

You are very young to be supplementing with T. I would advise that you read up on it first - once you start adding external sources, its a one-way street.

Also educate yourself in the differences between total and free testosterone.

Yes I have read into all this, I beleive natural test boosters work depending on free T? So need to get all numbers checked. Talking to a friend/PT he recommended I see a specialist that you pay for who can test everything and recommendations to improve levels. This'll be my first course of action.

I've also read a study that wasn't long long term I.e 50 years but showed that a low dose was better than nothing at all. Not making my judgement on that but it's interesting

Im trying to eat low carbs for a few days to see what difference it makes to my fat loss. Bloody hell its hard work!!

I was out for a bit longer than expected this evening and got home very hungry, wanted something to eat straight away and that is when I realise its not easy to just have something with no / low carbs! Had to fry up some pork steaks while I wait for my chicken to cook.

Cheese omelette is good. Teaspoon of peanut butter can fend off cravings for an hour as well.

Been struggling with lack of energy today, also hard to get food down without sauce! Had a plate of chicken and tuna after training and it took me ages!

I can't stomach peanut butter on its own, makes me wretch. Ive got 500 calories to eat after tea so gonna have to get something down me!
