Funnily enough in the US where the movie was made steroid possession is actually illegal. Not so over here.
Whether it's cheating or not is a matter of personal opinion but as I've said above the really big guys have a head start and are always going to be big because they inherited the 'big' gene in the first place.
So is that you saying that being big boned does exist? tongue out

I've noticed there's a lot more speed events now as opposed to pure strength.
I think this is part of the reason all the strongmen have started leaning up.
Speed/power had always been a part of Strongman.

Fatties like OD Wilson always whinged about it.

Yes but last few years it has seemed to favour the stronger ones as opposed to speed speed.
I guess it's down to the organisers though smile

If you mean in the sense that someone's a fat fker yet describe themselves as 'big boned', no. If you mean however that if a person is seven foot tall and they're healthily in proportion then the long bones of the leg and arms will inevitably be bigger than the average persons - then yes. smile

Bit of a random question - there was a British film (I think) about weightlifting which followed one guy who's mission was to get as big as possible and he was quite open about how he achieved it. Assuming I haven't imagined it, what was it called?

Quick update since i've been otherwise occupied and not really following the thread

Been out of action most of October through various illnesses. The last couple of weeks i've been digging out and laying the 7m x 3.5m base in the garden on which my log cabin is going to go (that's 8 cubic metres of clay and mud dug out with a spade and barrowed 150 feet into a skip, and about 5 tonnes of aggregate wheeled back the other way).

The cabin itself is going to be home to a power cage, a bench, and lots of lumps of metal. And air con for the summer.

Proper man cave!

Weight loss is going a lot quicker than expected, 15lbs in 13 days! yikes

Feeling weaker but still managing all my sets/reps so far.
Ordered some BCAA aswell since it's recommended smile

So far it's coming off the midsection - where it needs to go!

That's great!

I have the BCAA in powder form, this stuff:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/BCAAs-Branched-Chain-Powde...

It is pretty awful though, nasty taste and doesn't mix well with liquids - but I figure it's worth it...

I didn't think about it and bought 240 1g tabs for a tenner.
Not the most expensive but I'll be buying powder next time smile

130kgs is bigger than the guy on the left, 275lbs at cut weight, Lou Ferrigno .

That's Olympic class size/definition.

AhNold was only 240, in comparison.
Not coming from any real knowledge, but there really doesn't look like anywhere close to that in that pic. Is there a decent height difference?

You're not wrong. Point being that if you're not looking to get as big as possible (whether you go the natural route, steroids or synthol) then you're misunderstanding the point, surely.

Otherwise, to say "I don't want to get big, just tone up so I'll use 2kg dumbbells" is like saying, "I only want to drive to the local shops so I'll drive at 3mph all the way!"

Is loss of appetite normal during a cut?
I'm yet to eat today, going to force something down me for pre workout meal, hoping I'll be hungry post workout.

I was the same yesterday but only had 2 meals (but all my cals/macros in both)

I guess it can be. Your determination to lose weight makes you start to think "the less I eat, the quicker I'll lose". But it will mess with your health and muscle.
