This website explains what I do in regards to how the 10x3 works: http://www.muscleandstrength.com/workouts/beef-up-...
I really like the look of that, thanks.

I've been doing 5x5 for about 6 months now and it's getting a bit boring and starting to get very hard to make gains. Be great to deload and mix things up again for a while.

Well today was nearly a good day, after a year of injuries and a lot of missed work outs due to travelling for work I finally thought I had got back to squatting more than body weight with 5x5 at 112.5kg smile then I went a weighed myself and came out at 116kg rage Oh well should hopefully still be this week.

Still annoyed that the last time I was squatting over 110kg (November last year) it was with BW at 102kg paperbag

2015 goal me thinks cry

It's a great program, worked well for me anyway.
Gives you more of a challenge to try and keep the sets there smile

Managed 3x140kg on deadlift tonight which is a PR for weight anyway. My grip on my supinated hand was about to let go on the 3rd so called it a night with that.

Everything else felt great though and managed to keep good form, so going to do loads of grip work over the next fortnight and then hopefully make double bodyweight for reps (152kg) before Christmas smile

Artoir - I struggled with my grip on deadlifts at around 120kg. I felt I could lift more but it was the grip letting me down. I then started using liquid chalk and it made a massive difference - I'm up to 165kg (double BW) now and it is my overall strength rather than grip that is the issue!

Brilliant, might give that a try then thanks smile

Kicked it off today with a cheeky Monday session - on a Wednesday! I know! Crazy!

Really enjoyed it. Good to deload from the 5x5 plateaus and go back to much shorter rests between sets. Really kept the heart rate up and the muscles pumping.

Looking forward to seeing how it pans out. Especially the approach to always adding to bench press weights, even when failures accrue.

Good stuff!

Do you wear gloves?

I know lots of people hate the idea, but I find I grip and therefore lift better when I've got my trusty RDX gloves on

Seems to be a bit of a divide on that topic. Some say it can make it harder as you're effectively gripping a thicker bar.. Not for me but thanks for the suggestion. I want to try and stay as raw as possible in everything I do, even as far as keeping away from a belt until I'm lifting a lot more. Probably little logic in it, but it's a mental thing I guess.

It's certainly helped the cardiovascular (is that the word I'm looking for?) side, up until I went on a cut I was decreasing rest time as well as increasing the weight each week. Got to 30secs rest 1st 5 sets then 1 min last 5 sets. Now I need a minimum of a minute laugh

hope it works for you, it'd be a shame to run it for 15 weeks and get nothing out of it.

(Also as a side note, I sometimes had a bad day where I failed a full set - 2 reps. I had my rest and attempted again getting 3 after so I dismiss the set of 2 and carry on as it does happen (well on log press anyway))

I do wear gloves now, as I was finding the knurled grips on my barbells were making my hands sore (especially when doing curls)

Because I train alone, I do wear a belt, and knee, elbow and wrist wraps, just in case....

That's certainly fair enough!

I want to compete Raw in the Irish Drug Free nationals next Summer (which do allow a belt) so trying to stick with it. I need around 40kg on squat, 40kg on bench and 60-70kg on deadlift to be competitive in my weight class which I'm confident I can smash before then..

130kgs is bigger than the guy on the left, 275lbs at cut weight, Lou Ferrigno .

That's Olympic class size/definition.

AhNold was only 240, in comparison.
Not coming from any real knowledge, but there really doesn't look like anywhere close to that in that pic. Is there a decent height difference?
Heights are disputed, AhNold puts himself at 6'2, Lou puts himself at 6'5.

So probably around 3 inches difference. That was podium weight, pre-cut weight for AhNold was 280, and 320 for Lou.

Edit.
Anyone tried Skinny bds 3?

Finally making progress on bench after tweaking my form a little and focusing on keeping the upper back tight.

Finished on 70kgx10 but felt easy so went for another 80kgx3 which smashes my previous best.

Then incline dumbbell press to take but the cheesy and final set was 30kgs, up from 27.5kg.

Paid for it in my weighted dips though but I didn't really care.. Finished with some tricep work and called it a good night smile

I'd have forgotten to measure it, I'm sure.

Attach a cushion to the roof then you can gently bump your head on it for amusement value. I've been known to do toe-to-bar leg raises and poke ceiling tiles with my toes in gyms before. silly

Nothing groundbreaking but hit my new years deadlift target of 150kg tonight. However I've put on 2kg over the past few weeks so wasn't going to cheat myself, bodyweight is 77.5kg so put 155kg on, took two minutes and went for it. Went up like a dream and no ugly back. ****ing delighted.

Well done!

Always good to hear of folk beating their PB's. Keep that focus and momentum yes

I failed my year-end target this year, although my training focus has shifted slightly and I haven't been training for it, so I don't feel too bad about it.
