If you continue to eat vegetables, I don't see the problem (unless you go zero carb!). I did low carb once getting the ketosis etc and didn't suffer from constipation.
Good for you. Most people embarking upon a keto diet do initially experience a lack of dietary fibre with the inevitable consequences.Dick Dastardly said:

Guess they weren't eating enough vegetables in the first place and just dropped carbs!Eleven said:
They may well have been, a reduction in the intake of fibre can cause constipation initially regardless of whether the fibre from keto-compatible veg is adequate in an on going basis.
True, fibre indigestible and found as carbs. True, we get told in adverts that it is good for us. But why do you believe that fibre causes you to go to the toilet? Household plumbing and Brillo Pads are a very poor analogy for your intestines. In my experience a high fat/low carb diet is more likely to make it all, er, a bit looser.
been training non stop for the last 30 years, 45 now and always had pretty low rest periods between sets for the last 5 years, have always maintained a fairly high protein ration in my diet 180-200g a day but the last 3 years i changed my carb/prot/fat ratio to tip away from carbs and deliver more toward protein and fat.
after experimenting with different balances I found the right one for me and started to loose some BF%, always been around 10-12 but now running around 8%, interestingly (but not surprisingly) my strength dropped slightly eg. 110kg / 45º inc. benching v 100kg so not a massive difference but something that's been niggling me.
i've always had quite short rest periods between sets 30-40secs which hit a bit of cardio as i was no longer concerned about gaining any more muscle, more of a maintain program but in light of the losses in strength I increased the rest periods to 1 or 2 minutes.
Strength back at same BF
Relates to this thread in the sense that at 45 I was able to get back strength that I thought might have been an age related loss, quite relived
I think there should be a sticky 'Old Timers' thread tbh, keep out all these young riff raff

I think this is actually a good idea, it doesn't need to be exclusive, but a thread to discuss the joys of getting old!! Being a fully paid member of the 40+ club, I'm always keen to learn from the experiences of those lifters etc that have been there and done that! There is no question that once you get into you later 30s things start to change, I've very little experience in strength work, and it shows in my lifts, but everyday in the gym I see younger people (almost all of them, being a university gym) lifting heavy, with very little warm up and to be fair usually with good technique!
I think hitting 40 is a poor excuse for letting the belly expand a bit, myself included, whereas with a few simple adjustments and excepting that things change it is possible to stay lean and strong and enjoy working out for a lot longer that most people achieve.

Three months! Even if the guy was running an uberdangerous DNP/Clen cocktail that's impressive! You can see he had a good muscle base under that fat already, it would be impossible to add that much lean mass in such a small amount of time otherwise, even with gear. There's hope for me yet.
