So my turn is coming around I’m in next Wednesday on 6th July and I’ll be honest I’m crapping myself, doesn’t help that my brother in law has had it done and had loads of little cyst like lumps ever since (apparantly balls of hard sperm or something)
How common is that? He’s constantly freaking out over it!

Also I’m booked in for the afternoon and I’m having Thursday Friday off work for complete rest! But on the Sunday I’m meant to be flying a helicopter for 2hrs is this advisable? I would only be sat there at the controls nothing major if I’m honest!

Help ease my mind about it all I’m literally bricking it
Just had mine done on the 16th. Booked the afternoon off and the Friday. It was a breeze in the end. Doctor was throwing my meat around like a master butcher. Worst part was laying on the table and lifting my gown up to show the room what I was packing whilst the Doc had a look and feel of the veg to 'find my tubes'.

Was bandaged up and in and out of the building in under 30mins.
Little tickle for the needle but didn't feel any pain at all, just sometimes a little tugging. Balls doubled in size and had purple bruising to one side. 2 tiny incisions, 1 either side. Still visible now though, but faint.

It's already been said on this thread, but the best thing you can do is get some tight underwear to wear afterwards for a week etc. You don't want any droopage.

I don’t like pain so this is going to be great isnt it
My thinking was it’s either 20 mins of pain or 20 years of pain if an unannounced sprog turns up.

But in all fairness, whilst uncomfortable, not actually that painful. I’ve had worse experiences in the dentist chair.

Had mine done last Tuesday, worse part is the injections and then it’s just an uncomfortable feeling when they are having a feel and cutting the tubes. Burning smell was weird too.

My recovery has been ok. Right side isn’t tender but left side is still quite tender. Went back to work the following day (only sit behind a desk).

I got neutered on the NHS last September. I ended up having it performed via day surgery at the local hospital. Full theatre jobbie - even the consultant wasn't sure why..... Anyway, I was there ALL day from about 8am in a theatre gown with my arse hanging out finally being 'done' at about 15:30hrs. A pretty ghastly experience only made better by the cute Malaysian nurse that ended up holding my hand... I was such a wuss when the big burly African Dr started yanking my tubes. A feeling like getting kicked in the nads (repeatedly).

Recovery was OK just a bit of tenderness for a couple of weeks whilst things healed and the PTSD from the experience soon passes.

This reminds me I still need to spaff into a jam jar to make sure all the swimmers are no more. If it hasn't worked I won't be getting it done again... Would rather be celibate.

A near spitting image of mine in early January. Still occasional discomfort when drying or "rearranging", but I'd say 98% recovered. Swimming fine. Medium to long walks by the end of week two. I'd be confident I could run again, if not for another injury.

I was done on the 6th Jan at our local docs surgery.

In at 2pm, done by about twenty to three.

Injection was painful & made me flinch.

Smell of burning flesh is off putting.

Black swollen testicles for a fair few days after is moderately disturbing but a pair of Y fronts & a few ibuprofen stop the discomfort.

The weirdest bit was the old nurse who was in the room during the procedure - she stayed out of eyeshot but talked at me constantly during the process - I assume to take my mind off it. We had some very odd conversations.

All fine now & to be honest was OK within a couple of weeks.

Same here too.

The only advice I can offer is not to start climbing into Locomotive cabs 2 days later.
