Saw about 30 people doing some bootcamp thing in a park the other day. Doesn't look like fun to me but those 30 would disagree.

Fair point. I guess some people need that motivation. I am happy to insult myself in my head to push harder.

I do one twice a week, if you want a fast cardio calorie working activity this is it!

According to my heart rate monitor I usually burn between 1000-1300 cal/hour. It's not easy believe me however there is a sense of achievement and there's usually around 25-30 mid-20's fit/athletic women in tight lycra to around 5 guys where I do mine.

So there are some great non-fitness benefits to boot :-)

Y'know those bootcamps don't sound so bad after all!

Probably more sociable than a gym, too.

I'd be more tempted than a gym , you have to work hard with no slacking off!

How many people at gyms do you see ponce up, park in the disabled space by the door, moap around a couple of machines , sit down for 5 minutes after each and then shuffle home? Least with Bootcamps they force you to maximise the time spend exercising

The thought of going to a gym bored me so i joined a bootcamp for 3 months, 3 early mornings a week at 25 minutes a time before work

If this is what was involved in bootcamps, I'd be in there like a shot. 'Scuse the pun.

The lad who runs the classes at the gym i go to runs a boot camp at other places and does the same workouts etc i think.

TBH before i went to one i thought the classes were for women prancing about and talking rubbish about shopping etc. How wrong was i.

They are really hard work but very enjoyable. No workout is the same mixture of Weights, bodyweight and HIIT Cardio.

I find it great to have someone motivate you + its nice to try and compete with the others in the class.

Certainly worth a try.
