Hey,

I'm planning on taking part in a 40 mile race in about 3 weeks time (assuming this ankle niggle is fixed - keeps flaring up!), what sort of things should I be putting in the top of my bergan? I'm thinking about smashing tonnes of carbs down in the 48 hours prior, then maybe making some form of flapjack as well as some form of drinks powder?

Also, does anyone have any suggestions for helping my ankle settle? I need to keep training for the event, but running makes it niggle. Tabbing (loaded marching) doesn't seem to hurt that much but I haven't tried it on vigorous terrain yet.

The event itself is a 40mile loaded march.

Cheers!

Can't really recommend anything but interested in this thread as probably doing a 54 milt next year.

Flapjacks, sugary sweets and watered down lucozade has always seen me right on mountain walks. Nothing to bulky either.
