Well, couldn't find a thread for this, so here we are.

Mrs C is expecting our 2nd child in April 2015. A bit of a shock, but exciting news. Charles is now almost 2 so will have a little brother or sister to play with! HOWEVER, at 43, I really am too old for this. Mrs C is the same age (or will be at time of birth) and is feeling it already. Constantly feeling sick, but exhausted all the time. Luckily we have a live-in maid who adores Charles so that will help out no end. On the other side of the coin, we don't have any family around and also work long hours.

Also, the risks are that much higher due to our age, so we have to monitor that closely. Worryingly, we both have different opinions as to whether to proceed if there are serious problems...but that's another post I guess.

A bit pissed off that we gave most of our baby stuff away! best get buying again.

So, anyone else from the "Parents of 2012" made progress on further offspring??!!

Congrats!

I'm a 'Parent of 2012' threadista and hope to be contributing further to this thread biggrin

Mrs Dub is 40 next year - I'm only 32 - so it's kinda now or never for us for another one.

Time flies when you have a little 'un doesn't it? They are both adorable and infuriating at the same time.
Crack on then....the clock is a ticking!

Huntsman junior due on 9th April...maybe 8 days early.

First time parents, hugely excited but totally clueless!

Ultimate 'learn on the job' experience!

Keep calm and play the long game when it comes to discipline, routine, bedtimes, etc...

You'll be fine... And congrats!

My missus is due on the 6th January. A little girl. Can't wait!!! smile Had a 29wk baby scan on Monday, great to see her. She's growing well, amazing how they know so much from the scans. Weighing 3lbs 3oz so far, head and waist measured at 29.3/4 wks and her thigh bone at 31.3wks, going to be a long baby. Lol. They estimated her birth weight at approx 7lbs.

Sprog number one is due on 30th December, but if it's late it'll be a 2015 baby. Does that qualify me for this thread? On a side note, buggies... Who would've thought they cost the same as a nice old PH'y barge.eek

I'm 42 with a 1 and 3 year old so I wouldn't say you're that old. My missus is slightly younger at 39.

That said at the moment I seem to be in a permanent state of tiredness. The youngest was a good sleeper until recently but now she doesn't go down that easily, is restless in the night often waking 2-3 times and inevitably ends up in our bed. We put it down to various aliments she'd had since starting nursery but we just don't seem to be able to get back into a good routine again. Luckily the eldest is a solid sleeper often doing 11hrs+ without waking.

We both work, me full time and longish hours, the wife half time but often brings work home with her. Also no helpers nearby, the grandparents are the nearest but over an hours drive away hence any social life we once had is now non-existent.

The way I see it though it can only get better from now on and we've agreed that two is enough although my fear of the doctors/needles/etc. is stopping from taking the ultimate step towards infertility smile We hardly ever have sex now anyway laugh

Interesting!
Our first has been the perfect child up to now, although I'm sure everyone thinks that! He's slept for 12 hours a night since day 1, we've had to wake him up formilk, but then he's asleep again before he'd finish. I could start hoovering in his room right now and I doubt ned stir! No, he's not deaf!
The Ms really isn't coping with this pregnancy though....so I'll, tired and if she's not crying, she's shouting. Still, only 6 months left.
We're lucky that we have a live-in maid and she adores the boy. She was his old nursery assistant so they get on very well, so she takes care of all the housework and gets all his gear ready for nursery and his food etc. she'll probably resign when the new one co es along!
Off to Hamleys tomorrow for his g'day presents...I can't wait!
Cheers and good luck to all.

Well we are at 35wks today. So far, my missus is coping but it's certainly a struggle for her. Due to an added complication of having a rather large cyst aswell, baby might not want to engage so we are booked in for a full assessment on her 37wk point to see if she's engaged or if not, cesarean is on the cards to be done on the 39wk point. So could be a 2014 baby now 30-31st Dec). Eeek!

Pretty much everything is bought now or on order. Got a Bugaboo Buffalo pram due in on the 15th at mamas and papas, aswell as picking up the car seat and the isofix base.

Trying to keep the missus 'wrapped up in cotton wool' is tiring though, people are so inconsiderate of pregnant women this time of year!

Beautiful little girl! smile

My missus is due any day now (due date is tomorrow). She's had loads of practice contractions, braxtons and just general pelvic and hip ache. I hate all this waiting! We were advised by the midwife to go out for the day yesterday to have a chilled yet nice day, which it was but it ended in my missus crippled in pain later that night from SPD. This little madam doesn't seem to want to come out and greet us.

Haha, wish we only had to buy nappies. smile She's got a wardrobe and drawers bursting at the seams with outfits as my missus just can't stop buying stuff! We seem to have a NEXT baby, lol. Although I have to admit, if it's something that'll make our life easier and less stressful (i.e. simpler and quicker) then we've bought it. My missus has even gone as far as pimping up the pram! rolleyesbiggrin

We had another scan today (39+6) as had a second bout of D.F.M, good to see baby although in the space of 2 odd weeks, baby seems to have put on 1 & 3/4lbs, eeek! 8lb 10oz est now (we know they can be inaccurate estimating baby weight due to the way they measure, though). Missus now freaking out for fear of a big baby if we overrun too much past tomorrow's due date. I can see us running into the maternity ward screaming EPIDURAL NOW!!! biglaugh

You'll be very close to us then. Perhaps we can share night-time posts on how much sleep you've not had.
