A few of my friends have had implants both here in the UK and abroad (Hungary). Personally, I wouldn't go through the NHS anyway - but then I wouldn't mind spending a couple of grand for teeth. Fortunately I have a dentist who I can trust.
2k woud be lovely. Try 4k for one tooth. Or, rather, 3k for the tooth and 1k for the bone graft.

Serious point. I left it too long and suffered bone thinning. I waited two years. Apparently I was only supposed to wait six months after injury. Oops!

Agree on the front teeth funding (S Yorks), well a few years ago.

I agree Macgee, strange isn't it?

As a comparison, in France, a very socialist state, you only get implants paid for if you have a genetic disorder resulting in teeth not forming. Ectodermal dysplasia for example.

A friend of mine had a very serious cycling accident a year ago this weekend which resulted in the loss of a number of front teeth (as well as major face surgery after de-gloving his face).

He lost a lot of front teeth in the accident and has been provided with dentures on the NHS, he was given the option of implants if he forked out a few grand for them (but was advised against them by his dentist).

A year on and unless you knew he had dentures you would not notice them - although it took him a few months to get used to them.

FWIW he is in Berkshire, initially he was treated at St Georges in London then transferred to the care of Wexham and Heatherwood NHS trust.
