So I had a pretty hefty motorcycle accident in Februrary in which I broke Both wrists, 9 ribs and 2 vertebrae. I'm fixed now, but had to have a load of metal plates in each arm. In the hostpital I did not see the X rays and was told off when I got caught looking through my file.

Is there anyway I can get hold of these X rays, or at least copies? (if made) or would I need to have new ones done? (would rather not have to do this just for the novelty of having them)

Any ideas?

You are legally allowed copies of your xray images and the report, but they are fully entitled to charge you a reasonable sum.

Where I work we charge £20 for the images on disc. If they were plain film images, not digital, they are more expensive to copy and they may charge more.

They must keep the images for 7 years minimum.

Of course you can have a copy of them...they are x-rays of you !
You can write to the hospital for a copy, they can charge you for reasonable costs of copying them (they can burn them onto a disc).
