Anybody else gone down with this potentially life threatening bug? Been feeling fking st for the last few days, shoving all kinds of pills down my gullet, Day Nurse, Night Nurse, Various flu tablets and copious amounts of Paracetamol, any other tips to keep me alive?
I suppose working in a High School surrounded by 1200 screaming snivelling snotheads does not help....

I'm just coming off the tail-end of this. My sinuses are still clogged and aching and I have a dry cough but on the whole I'm feeling much better. I'm not convinced chucking potions and pills at it helped all that much; it seems to mitigate the symptoms during the worst part but takes much longer to get over completely instead...

Chap at work is recovering from something which apparently makes the noro virus seem like a walk in the park.

It was good of him to pitch up on the third day to share his symptoms with us. mad
He was there less than 5 minutes before his manager sent him home using a cattle prod and bio-hazard suit.

Yup, just at tail end, 3 days of feeling crap, 1 day into it our youngest got it, then my wife finished work for christmas yesterday and now has it too, eldest is still her unfailingly cheerful self. Just hoping it's all out of the way before the 24th. I've also got an interview monday and I'm hoping my nose has stopped doing it's rudolph impression my then frown

Had it last Christmas. My daughter (just under a year old) started with it on Christmas eve so I spent the night awake with her asleep on me. Then my wife and I came down with it bad on Christmas day. It was touch and go at one point, I almost had to get Bono to do a charity single for me. Luckily we made it through, and cooked Christmas dinner on Boxing day.

My husband and I are both suffering from something, not too terrible, but last Christmas we were absolutely knocked out. Hope you all feel better soon.

I'm just getting over it - went straight to my chest after a 3 days of suffering with proper man-flu. A few hot/cold flushes, but reckon I will be over it by the start of the week. A fair few of my mates have gone down with it - one in particular has been bed ridden - I've known him for 1o years and he doesn't get ill. Worryingly, it seems to be the kids that have suffered the worst. One of my friend's daughter has been off school for the whole week - out of class of 30 kids there were only 15 in for the last two days due to illness.

I get a flu jab every year, haven't had flu since I started. Only costs about a tenner if ytou don't qualify for free, available mid Autumn onwards, at a surgery near you.

I get it free as I'm immunosuppressed. I've never had flu so I don't know how bad it really is. I still get colds though - I have one at the moment.

Eggnog. A seasonal fix-it-all.

And if you have too much no one will be able to tell as your nose is already producing a similar fluid.

I've had a cold on and off for 3 weeks now, I'm gettin rather annoyed with feeling like this.

Seems to come on as a cold does for 2-3 days then a few days later comes back onto my sinuses.

Rinse and repeat for the last few weeks.

I do tend to suffer with sinusitis after a cold but usually just the once, I know it's frowned upon but I'll be off to the docs tomorrow I think for some antibiotics to clear it up. Seems the only thing that does the trick.

Missus is due to drop any day too so I could do without feeling like this!

You're right about the epic amounts of snot, I'm not entirely sure where it's coming from. Also my sinuses still ache and I'm doing the hot-steam-with-Vicks with a tea-towel over the head. It helps a lot.

Still, at least no more aches and pains and the throat/voice has returned to normal now.
