Annoying! Rest. Remember to warm up next time. Or warm up more!
Agreed I arrived late so didn't warm up. My own stupid fault tbh.

I'm in no position to be ribbing in fairness, trying to wear straight legged jeans is becoming challenging.

I aim to try it this Sat. biggrin
And I did.
I ran Parkrun this morning in 24ish minutes, gave myself the day to recover. I did my press routine and then some warm-ups with 70kg...I thought I had made a mistake since my quads were pretty stiff...only did around 6/7 warm-up reps since I thought, 'no chance', I don't wanna tire myself out. I didn't think my legs would be up to a decent number, but thought 'fk it' anyway, I'll do it even if I only get 20.
I wore my OL shoes, my belt (which I don't for worksets, but glad I did, it gave such a boost) and my manta-ray.
I started and had to rack after 10, but my rests were small. I had my phone in front of me with the time. By the time I got to 40, I was doing bursts of 5. I genuinely forgot how many bursts I had done near that number. So by the time the 5 minutes was up, I was on either 50, or 55. Either way I'm happy. Next time I do it I plan to be fresh!
Weight used was 105kg....I also plan for it to be 102.5kg next time. biggrin

You'd find it a challenge to get me wearing straight legged jeans big thighs or not!

I reckon I've got a chance of getting close to the top number.

Anyone follow Mike Rashid on Youtube / Facebook? He does massive sessions, not uncommon for him to do 200 reps on bench press.

I tried one of his style workouts this morning, 10 sets of 10 on bench press. Then the rest of my usual chest day as normal. It certainly felt a lot more "pumped" than usual.

Strongman vs. powerlifter

Overhead work.
Lad split power-jerks 190kg.
Then they have a go at push pressing around 130.

Crazy strong, showed him up on the log too tongue out

I didn't think about using a wide grip for jerking, I stayed quite close (in comparison to him)
I'll be trying tomorro to see if I can push press/jerk a bit more weight smile

So what's going on there? (apart from amazeballs!)
The weightlifter's style looks completely different to the other guys... but I just can't describe *what* he's doing differently.

explosiveness vs brute strength?

Can anyone find a definite answer to this:
Does training legs prior to any workout - leg curls/extensions or squats/leg press to warm up (no working sets) increase hgh thus leading to better gains long term?

I've found conflicting info but I do remember I used to do this when I hit the gym from around 14-16 when a PT/bodybuilder at the time told me to.

I'm sure worse case is i'll have bigger legs laugh

Saw the squat for reps vid some time ago. Inspired by Dan John I'd attempted similar before, but without racking the bar at all. Best effort was bodyweight (80kg) for 42reps. Really wanted to crack 50, but my hips hated me after a few weeks of training for it.

The missus, my brother and I are planning on doing a charity walk in September. The intention is 27miles in 12hrs in the Peaks. Doesn't seem overly ambitious, but I have no idea really. Any advice?

His speed is impressive. I read a T-Nation article on how to place arms for push press. It advised to have the elbows like the lads, instead of in front like a front squat. I'll attempt it on Tuesday.

I saw an article the other day that showed force production for leg raise, leg press and squat, Squat was way way ahead.
