https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gallstone#Causes

"A lack of melatonin could significantly contribute to gallbladder stones, as melatonin inhibits cholesterol secretion from the gallbladder, enhances the conversion of cholesterol to bile, and is an antioxidant, which is able to reduce oxidative stress to the gallbladder.[11] Researchers believe that gallstones may be caused by a combination of factors, including inherited body chemistry, body weight, gallbladder motility (movement), and low calorie diet. The absence of such risk factors does not, however, preclude the formation of gallstones.

No clear relationship has been proved between diet and gallstone formation. Nutritional factors that may increase risk of gallstones include rapid weight loss; constipation; eating fewer meals per day; and low intake of the nutrients folate, magnesium, calcium, and vitamin C. Wine and whole-grained bread may decrease the risk of gallstones. Pigment gallstones are most commonly seen in the developing world."
My bold.
Smiffy needs emergency pies!
laugh non of that has happened for me.

Interesting about the whole grained bread, never come across that before. Always been wholewheat?
Edit: Yes I have, just never paid attention to the label!

Do I want one of these?

£285 for a 30kg log with an additional 50kg of plates included.

I guess you're kinda limited in what you can do with it? Lift it over your head, and...?

I wouldn't, it's not IFSA spec which is 13" diameter. It makes a huge difference to the cleaning process and press.

Clean + press, you can bench press it. You could row it but it's kinda awkward but part of the challenge I guess?
Hammer curls if you're strong enough? biggrin
It's a neutral grip so quite handy if you're creative smile

I can recommend a guy if you're on a budget, i'll just copy/paste his prices and a link to his FB (should be open to view his stuff).

Thanks for the tip for your contact. I'll look him up.

I've officially lost 20kg as of this morning biggrin

hopefully another 12kg down (130kg bodyweight then), but I'll reassess when I get there. I'd like to 15% bf but 130kg is probably optimistic however I think 130kg is probably a weight where I'll be able to still be competitive.

Recently someone was asking about best exercise to help with deads.
I wasn't much help at the time but stumbled on a new (to me) Rippetoe video with a few tips based on Bill Starr's training (of Mad Cow 5x5 fame smile): Rack Pull.

Lost 7lb in the past 3 weeks.
So currently 14 stone.
No target scale wise, just want to look good in the mirror.
Been ill the past 4 days. Knocked my food and training right out the window.
Back at it Tuesday.

A squat of over 700 without a squat suit is fairly rare.

laugh okay then.

Now if he said 100% raw and natural he'd be be more on point but a 317.5kg is quite common especially in strongman, never mind power lifting etc.

Skim read it.
Decent enough article. I'd like to go back to strength, at extremely strong in his standards, I reckon I could hit elite.
The blokes at Iron Pit are probably on gear and they use sleeves and stuff.

That may be the case, but most of us will never see that kind of weight shifted in our own gyms. Anything over 120kgs squat and 150 deadlift is a rare event in either gym I've played in.
We're lucky to have a few exceptionally strong and gifted lifters at PH, but the rest of us are 'normal'. hehe

Yeah, at most gyms that's the case. I'm lucky because I run a fitness session at one gym that's got a really big area (relatively speaking - probably 8 benches, lifting platform, squat rack, leg press (free weight jobbie)) for free weights. They let me use the gym area FOC! By Christmas, I shall be squatting a Range Rover with 4 passengers.

Probably your standard big chain gym or council-run job. Plenty of them about. They might not even have a squat rack because it's "too dangerous" so you get a Smith machine. Dumbbells will go up to 30kg. You will never see anyone deadlift. Will likely have a bank of 20 running and cycle machines.

Here's one near me:

If you squint, you can make out the free weights area with TWO benches.
