Had a go in a squat suit tonight but to deadlift in (friend thought it was a dead suit he bought laugh ) and considering I'm only 2 1/2 weeks post op, I pulled a very easy 220kg beltless biggrin
I'm extremely tempted to buy a deadlift suit now.......

I think Smiffy needs to stop being a bender and lift weights without assistance.

Is it natural when you have a suit? fk it, I'm going to enter a natural competition and bring a fork lift truck along. (What are the rules for a competition? Could you technically use a fork lift truck? biggrin ISTR 4 Hour Workweek author won an MMA tournament by working the rules right to the limit - not through superior fighting ability but pushing every opponent out of the ring.)

Right chaps... squats. Without a bar on your shoulders.

How do I do that?

My shoulder mobility is so screwed at the moment that I can't get my left hand back and onto the bar for squatting. But back and legs need action!

I can still deadlift, but that just isn't hitting my legs nearly enough.

Ooh - I hadn't thought of that. Probably... up to about 60kg (the shoulder injury seems to be having repercussions through upper and lower arm too)

Thanks, I'll give it a go tomorrow.

What about Lunges? They can get pretty brutal on the legs.

My gym got a trap bar last week. Could that be useful?

Can you get your hands on the collars?

Thought about purchasing a safety squat bar??

The bar's collars? Maybe, just, but you can't reach out to them when the bar is racked.

Had to Google the safety bar - genius! Had no idea such a thing existed but it's a great idea. First one I found was nearly £200 though, so I'll keep browsing! laugh

With the trap bar - do hack squats.

Otherwise:
-dumbbell Bulgarian squats
-dumbbell split squats
-(barbell) Jefferson squats
-squat jogs.

You could even use the leg press machine... too light? Do it with one leg at a time then.
