My goals vanished almost as fast as most people's New Year's resolutions. Injured my rotator cuff in January; tried to 'exercise it better' for a few months, to no avail. Stopped lifting entirely in June; started physio about 5 weeks ago and (very) light lifting about 2 weeks ago.

I really fking hate lifting while injured though. I can just see everyone else in the gym thinking 'look at that stupid old man; in here with his flashy lifting shoes^, grimacing as he struggles to bench 40kg'. frown

I still can't get my left hand back far enough to hold a squat bar, but the physio is slowly giving me more mobility back.

My target is to be able to start the 5x5 again in January.

Halb - his love of running overcame him and he was last seen completing the Isle of Dogs loop of the London marathon for the 81st time as they'd taken down the barriers so he didn't know when to leave said loop.

Training gear heads-up: got myself some INOV8 lifting shoes at half RRP from SportPursuit a couple of weeks back. Today they've got Adidas and Reebok lifting shoes on offer too.
Does one have to 'join' them?

You have to register to be able to see their stock, yes. Painless exercise. And you'll get at least one email a day from them with offers, but I think it's ok as it's only ever sports or outdoor activity gear, so is quite interesting. Even if you only window shop.

And I did.
I ran Parkrun this morning in 24ish minutes, gave myself the day to recover. I did my press routine and then some warm-ups with 70kg...I thought I had made a mistake since my quads were pretty stiff...only did around 6/7 warm-up reps since I thought, 'no chance', I don't wanna tire myself out. I didn't think my legs would be up to a decent number, but thought 'fk it' anyway, I'll do it even if I only get 20.
I wore my OL shoes, my belt (which I don't for worksets, but glad I did, it gave such a boost) and my manta-ray.
I started and had to rack after 10, but my rests were small. I had my phone in front of me with the time. By the time I got to 40, I was doing bursts of 5. I genuinely forgot how many bursts I had done near that number. So by the time the 5 minutes was up, I was on either 50, or 55. Either way I'm happy. Next time I do it I plan to be fresh!
Weight used was 105kg....I also plan for it to be 102.5kg next time. biggrin
Ahh, it was 50 or 55. biggrin
