It was a very polite kick up the pants, which was warranted and appreciated.

Last nights tests appeared to be fine although I haven't heard anything from the blood tests.
Being as I'm in Germany (quite happy about that), they want to do a thorough investigation.
Called the office and shelved the remainder of the week.

Is that Guinness in your glass ? Cheers.
Doctor here was happy with my red wine consumption. smile

Short update.
Yesterday received Echo examination showing good valve and pump function. Blood pressure was up (but perfect this morning).
Currently on a 24 hour EKG and encouraged to move around my room all day ( like a bear in the zoo).
Medication has been blood thinner, anti cholesterol and very nice injection in the stomach for anti thrombosis.

Hypertension is now on the radar.

Reads like you are getting top class care. Very sensible to get checked out and as they say 'no smoke without fire.'
All the best.

Hi NailedOn,

Yes, being well looked after. Now having a 12 hour blood pressure monitoring.
All chest discomfort has gone.
I'm now convinced that some recent family stress added to my normal level of work stress took me over the edge.
I get a tight chest stress problem maybe once every 10 months but this time has been different.

You chaps pushed me to make the correct decosion which I very much appreciate.
I think that I will be coming away with a confidence that my heart is in good order, a weight reduction target with motivation and a refocusing on my cholesterol.

AND for the weekend I can follow United on BBC Live updates today and then the Ausy tennis on Sunday.
Pity I wont be home in time to get one of your Cambridge tickets frown

I'm going to the walk in centre tomorrow.

Been having bouts of crushing pain, enough to stop you in your tracks.

Sounds more like something you should rock up to A&E with now, rather than a walk in center.

Crushing chest pain is how most people describe a heart attack

Why on earth would you leave it until tomorrow ?

No one at any hospital will think bad of you for turning up NOW

Seriously?

Don't be stupid.
If you've got crushing chest pain that's enough to stop you in your tracks, stop what you're doing and call 999. Don't mess about with going in to A+E tomorrow or having a drive to the local Walk-In Centre or other such nonsense.

Crushing chest pain = 999.

A&E in the middle of a big city is hell.

I've had them for a few weeks now so one more night should be ok

Yeah...I know what you mean. My leg fell off last week and I just can't face A&E at the best of times and what's a pint of blood here and there?

Stick a carrier bag over it, a couple of elastic bands and it should last a few days tongue out

Shame you no longer have the Cayman, I'd've called first dibs.
Not interested in the a4 or 1 series.

Good, if true.
I first went to my GP with a chest pain and was given the same diagnosis. He took neither my BP nor pulse. Did yours?
I ask because within a few months I was diagnosed with arrhythmia.

Yes, took bp, pulse, asked quite a few questions. All ok on the face of it...

Sorry about your experience.

An ecg is a useful tool. I took a copy of mine the last time as the doc said any future charts can be compared to my 'normal' stats. A baseline if you like. Scanned and on my phone if ever needed.

Good to hear you are fine.
I'm all OK now but it was a lesson not to take a GP's opinion as given. It actually took three different GPs over six months to reach the correct diagnosis for me. I have to say I now stick with the Doc who called it right!
