Arm as a kid, collar bone in early 20's, same collar bone late 20's.

Frankly, your a pussy. When I did my collar bone the first time (bike accident) I didn't even know it was broken until I got into work and tried to get my jacket off.

Second time I broke it I had a slight over lap, rather than an end to end heal, so it's quite lumpy.

I've sustained 27 breaks so far - both collar bones, ribs, both elbows, both tibias (numerous times - including one occasion in 5 places plus a 3 inch spiral fracture to l/h tib), left fibula twice. right scaphoid twice, left scaphoid 3 times, both ankles, fingers & toes, nose. I think that's it - I'll probably remember another after I post!

Slight tangent, but for those who have broken things - do you find those bits ache in cold weather?
I must be lucky, but no.

I only have about 50% movement (flexion) in my l/h ankle which can ache if I do lots of hill repeats running (more to do with being forced to run with a weird gait up steep hills really) and I've also snapped my l/h adductor muscle which can also ache if I have a heavy squats session in the gym.

Aside from that, I wouldn't know I'd done anything really.

Open fracture of my right femur, the bone missed the artery on the way out by about 10mm! The nail is still inside the bone over 25 years later.

Both tibia and fibia also right leg. When the plate, screws, pins and wire were removed they let me keep them all.

The plate from my ankle...

Little finger in my right hand punching a kid at school, who punched me back & broke the little finger in his right hand. What are the chances? Pair of pricks in A&E aged 13 saying sorry to each other.

Middle toe windsurfing in Lanzarote. I relayed this information to my GP on my return, which elicited the response: Lucky you. He had a point.

Nearly twenty years ago, my little toe on my right foot after catching it on the door frame of the bathroom following a midnight visit to the toilet. It was sticking out at a 45° angle. Painkillers and one of my daughter's hair scrunchies "fixed" it.

Rock and Roll.

To answer the second question first, yes, I hurt lots in the cold and damp.

I've broken my collarbone, ribs, sternum, hip, pelvis, left leg in five places before the knee, knee, and compressed my spine all in one accident at age 16. Motorbike, Transit van interface and I wasn't legal to ride the bike! Only reason I didn't get fone for it was I was in hospital sooooo long they gave up!

Also broke all the bones in the back of my left hand at the same time (clutch lever).

Broken so many bones in my feet Udon't even bother counting/going to the hospital anymore (what a man! smile ).

Broken back coming up to three years ago. That one ain't so easy to shrug off....

Is the poll question:

"Have you ever?"

or "Have you never?"

What do I answer since I've broken an arm confused

OP, same as you when I was punted into a ditch on my R1... Right clavicle in 3 or 4 pieces, didn't quite manage to puncture the skin. Surgery and plating for that one.

Other than that:

Left arm
Right big toe
Left wrist
Right wrist x2
Right scaphoid
Nose
Left cheek/eye socket
Numerous fingers
Cracked rib

Last one was coming up to a year ago now:

Dislocated, fractured right thumb, Ulnar Collateral Ligament rupture with the bone pulled off with the ligament...

Was 2 weeks before I could get that looked at, which was fun. More surgery to re-attach the bone & ligament etc.

I'm 40 in a few weeks.

Right clavicle - pile on in year 5, I was at the bottom. It hurt.

Left fore-arm - fell off bike, wasn't wearing helmet, made complete mess of face + right hand side of my body too and knocked myself out. Dad, to this day, thinks I was hit by a car but I don't remember a thing smile

Left Clavicle - Skiing. This one hurt and the 36 hour coach ride home wasn't fantastic. (Austrian hospital was lovely and nurses very nice. Their drugs were even better)

The question is a bit ambiguous. I've broken a bone, but it was someone else's collarbone when I landed on it playing football.

I broke my right hand hitting the edge of a school bus seat when I was 12.

I then followed that up with a spectacularly dislocated right elbow when I was 13 in a judo match. I managed to break a piece of bone off my elbow which, according to the doctors, lodged iself in my elbow joint. The offending bone was then pinned back in-place with one of the pin heads poking my skin. The dislocation also green-splinted almost every other bone in my right arm and to this day my elbow won't straighten beyond 40' and has around 45' movement back the other way. The arm had 5 operations on it over 3 years.

That was it until my late 30's when I slipped in a shower and snapped two of my left ribs which then punctured my left lung and filled it with blood. I also distressed a few internal organs with that fall. I was on a business trip at the time and honestly believed I'd just badly banged myself, so I flew home. Luckily, my plane was a turboprop otherwise I might not have been around now. The resultant doctor and A&E investigation put me in hospital for 3 days and I couldn't sleep lying down for over 2 months.

My ribs, elbow and hand all ache in damp weather.

I'm now 44.
