Toes, now broken and sprained so many times just tape up and carry on.

First time happened at school sports injury. They sent me off to hospital.
Isn't it weird how treatment changed, I have really long toes and the slightest knock the buggers break, When I did them 30 years ago they put your toes in little splints, then over the years taped them up. If you go now you get told to rest your foot.

I don't bother going to the hospital with mine now.

and 12 pints of your finest French blood. I was 39, now 47, and had never broken a bone before.
That means that you are now officially French. Any side effects? A greater affinity for cheese perhaps?

I have reached the ripe old age of 51 without a proper broken bone. However, I have had a stable fracture (basically a crack on the top of my tibia). I was taken out by a kid on a toboggan whilst skiing.

Funny you should mention that. I'd put a post on this forum just last week regarding a small 'odour' issue with my left armpit since the car crash that was responsible for said French blood. Maybe that's it? Onions and cheese!

I only found out the other day (aged 44 that I broke my shoulder aged 16, I remember falling off my bike and the pain but the nurse in A&E said it was fine. I did a parachute jump a couple of weeks later and I remember that bloody hurting too.

I've also broken three ones in my foot and my scaphoid, nothing aches particularly in the cold (yet...)

Managed to get to 34 without breaking anything, then did my heel. Doesn't ache when it's cold though (but there is no metalwork in there).

Blimey, some serious injuries here! eek
For the anally retentive amongst you who were confused by the title then maybe you should read the thread and with that surmise what I meant. smile

Had the op Friday (some rod or pin inserted joining the two parts up or something) now at home. I was very lucky as I was not wearing a helmet and just had a "bit of concussion". confused

Anyway. Interesting and sobering stories.

ETA My mate just walked in and slapped my on the shoulder. eek

Got to 27 without breaking anything then broke my humerus after falling over paintballing, luckily avoided surgery as I broke it cleanly in half and they could line it back up quite easily. That was august last year, nearly back to full strength now. and to answer the earlier question, I have noticed that it aches a lot when in the cold weather.

The doctor did say I was a brave soldier and deserved a big medal. (He actually said a great big chocolate medal).

I'm guessing that's where the pin/rod went in?

Had a week on light duties, manning tool stores, gave me an opportunity to build a remote control car so it wasn't all bad.
