Hi All,

Not sure if this belong here or in the sport section.

Started with the local team last night, did a 1 1/2hr training session.

Not played Rugby for years (I'm 28)

Anyways I noticed my lower back getting sore quite early on whilst playing touch for warming up, the only thing i can compare it to is when i was walking in the Sahara desert in the deep sand i started to get a sore lower back, i assume it will just be with not getting used to it and with the ground been so soft and not having worked my back muscles much.

I have done boxing for 4 years and get no back pain at all.

Any suggestions on a workout to prevent this in the future? We were training in 3" of snow so the ground was very soft.

Not sure if I remember correctly, but I think injured or weak hamstrings can lead to back pain? I'm sure a team mate had this and strengthening the hamstrings helped.

Happy to be corrected though!

I doubt I'm injured but weak hamstrings is definitely a possibility.

What type of pain? My back will be sore tomorrow mornings after squatting, but it'll be muscular.
