If you do want to have a drink I think the lowest calories is gin and slimline tonic (110 calories of a double). Beer is twice that ish.

Good work so far and keep it up. smile And stop blaming the wife, its your body.

Of course, if the OP was a proper alcoholic he'd be drinking enough drain cleaner and brasso that he'd puke it all up - thereby consuming no calories at all.

I had to stop drinking brasso after they didn't put the nutritional information on the side of the tin, which made it hard to calorie count.

Welshbeef, I got to a point in my life about 2 years ago where I decided that I had to change my lifestyle. I was 30, and at nearly 16 stone and 6' tall, very overweight and borderline obese. My diet now consists of the following...

Breakfast:

50g porridge (real porridge, not the sugar infused Oats-so-simple guff), with cinnamon, a bit of salt and a little squeeze of honey.
2 x coffee, black, no sugar

Lunch:

2 x ryvita or 1 x Warburton thin with either diet Laughing Cow or home made humus, salad and some sliced sandwich meat.

Dinner:

Anything from pork and bean tacos, chilli with rice, grilled fish with a small portion of pasta, home made pesto and veg, grilled chicken and salad, steak / steak burgers with lots of grilled mushrooms and salad... basically, a portion of some kind of meat, with salad and the occasional small portion of carbs.

No snacks. I've never really been a snacker, I'm not fussed on chocolate or sweets.

No booze through the week, maybe a couple of tins/glasses of wine on a Friday or Saturday night. If I'm having a session I'll stick to neat vodka or Jim Beam and diet coke.

I walk about a mile and a half most lunchtimes, I play golf once a week, and I do an hours circuit training class once a week.

I'm currently 13 stone 3 lbs, and hoping that I can get to 12 stone 7 by the summer.

All the very best.

Im a big snacker and if snacking is your challenge then its best to limit the quantity and just get a 'portion' (a handful is about a portion of most stuff) and put the rest out of easy reach, I have cashews and goji berries (someone at work gave me them, I don't usually go for the pseudo science crap, food of the moment, but they are quite nice and aren't processed) sat on my desk for this afternoon when I feel a dip & I had an apple around 10.

Decided today that for any internal calls I'd usually make in the office actually walk to their desk instead for face to face. Also weather permitting go for a 20 mins walk every lunch.

I'm actually intending on staying dry this weekend too which includes the France v Wales game!! And attempt to stay dry until we go on the skiing holiday.

Also (probably placebo) but I nearly always feel like something more between dinner and bed - I usually try to fill up on water or sometimes hot choc but do opt fruit of something else.
Tonight however I feel no urge at all absolutely no desire at all.

I'm sorry to piss on your cornflakes but it's in the hope of saving you money. These don't work. They never will work, and it's easy to tell they don't work for two reason.

1) There is no scientific basis for them to work. You can spot the junk science words thrown in like "Ketones", "metabolism", but once you remove these there is no actual content. They are there to confuse and impress the gullible.

2) Again, look at the wording of the claims. They are not even allowed sell them as a weight loss product, as with all these products they say "popularly used for weight loss", or "traditionally used to treat X". This is because they have either been outright denied a licence for the implied claim, or more commonly because they have absolutely no evidence to back up their claims they don't even ask for it.

If they had evidence by the way, it would not be hard to prove, or expensive, and financial backing would be forthcoming. It is simply because they know they're talking rubbish, I'd be amazed if it actually even contains what it says on the bottle.

You've effectively just bought some expensive sweets. Assuming this is from a reputable voodoo company however, like Holland and Barrett, you probably won't become ill. If however you've bought them online, there is a chance they will have added opiates and steroids to the mix, to give the desired response, however at the expense of your health.

I had to stop my father taking weight loss pills the internet recommended him two years ago, after it turned out the drug used was banned by the MHRA after it caused heart attacks.

There's no short cuts in life mate. You already know this.

Ok an update 12 days in and now the weight loss is 3.5/3.75lbs - I'm checking daily exactly the same time and its a continuous loss.

Been taking these pills for 2.5 days so far and from taking them the loss has increased
No booze at all yet
Portion size not really changed
Exercise none - short stroll when I can get a few mins
No change in fruit intake
No breakfast

I'm putting it down to placebo for now but as stated I will keep this update ongoing. Reason for no exercise - this week in the office 7am (means leaving the house 6am latest) leaving the office 9-10pm this week so home 10-11pm (with the odd exception). Literally has been a wake up run into shower race to work then home grab food then bed and repeat. (God knows how some find the time for exercise during the week)

Because we work the hours we are paid to work and don't let our work take the piss, unless you work for yourself of course.

Not because of them it hasnt. A placebo cant physically change your weight; you have either lost weight or havent.

In that case currently these tablets do work. Let's see how things progress.
