Has anyone tried Berrocca ( vit B1/B2 ) ? It is supposed to 'release more energy'...

I had heard of it a few years ago as a hangover 'cure', but i tried it for a few days to ward off colds in January.

Did not notice much except that urine was a much brighter yellow !!

Does anyone recommend it

I take them. If you are only going to take one, make it a big one. wink
>100% ADR Vit C too.

Yeah, yeah, your perfect diet means you don't need any extra vitamins etc, etc.

Generally unless your diet is appalling then they wont be doing much for you other than turning your wee bright yellow and emptying your wallet.

Having said that if you like a bit of booze then they might benefit you, because alcohol interferes with the body absorption of B vits.*

  • I have no evidence of qualifications to back this up but I heard it on the internet somewhere.

Good for hangovers that's for sure.

Plus I'm full of a cold at the moment so having one a day to keep me going.

Bad for your teeth, according to my dentist friend who recommends drinking milk or eating cheese after taking one.

Asda own-label 'Energise Effervescent', is exactly the same formulation as Berocca, but with added zinc.

It's two-thirds of the price.

Having had a succession of really bad colds, and being generally at a low ebb at this point in the year anyway, I feel noticeably better for taking the Fakerocca.

Yes, my dentist said this too but recommended eating deep fried kale or roasted parsnips seasoned with rosemary after taking one.

I'd never take one though as they're a complete waste of money, for the worried well.

I've been taking them lately and do feel better, my diet isn't that great so I'm probably lacking in a lot of vitamins!

So they're not that well thought of by the looks of things. Are things like the Wellman tablets better then?

I've been taking Berocca once a day for 2-ish years now. I have history of weak immune system and bowel issues but noticed since taking Berocca I (touch wood) hardly get seriously ill anymore and my bowel issues better.

Not to mention blessing for hangovers too :P
