Can anyone help. I've been using Boots contact lenses for a while. I can't have the latest super duper Acuvue things as I have odd shaped eyes and had toric lenses which were an older design. Unfortunately, I can really feel them in my eyes and it looks as if I've had no sleep with redeye and they itch and in an A/C environment, I just start crying.

I really enjoy using them, but I'm looking for an alternative that I'm not going to be able to feel in my eye. Does anyone have any suggestions as my glasses are driving me nuts.

Ooooh have felt your pain.
I believe your lenses are prescribed/promoted by your optician.
Are they dailies? I tried dailies and they dried out too quickly, didn't last a day in fact!
I use Air optic Aqua monthly lenses. Yes monthly lenses can be a faff, but they suit me.

Dailys, monthlys or other? I went from dailys to monthlys and found them a lot better. Still have issues at the end of a long day but only now and then.

Using dailies. I don't have the patience or dexterity to be clarting about with monthlies.

I had the same issue with Boots dailies.... Then had an annual check up and they put me on new Boots Oxylens dailies. They feel much thicker and took a few days to get used to, but they are fab. Apparently they allow much more oxygen through and my wear time has really extended.

I like Boots aftercare, been going there for 20 years now....thanks to these new lenses I'll be staying put! I'm sure they'll give you a few days supplies to try them?

Get them lasered! I should have done it years ago, wore contacts for around 8 years every day and my god they were seriously irritating at times and often had red eyes. Had my eyes zapped in September and it is absolutely fantastic!

Do you feel them in and do your eyes suffer at all? My wife says her's are amazing and she doesn't feel them at all. I want the same sort of thing if possible.

I used Acuvues for a while, didn't find them very comfortable (sounds like the same issue you are having). Talk to your optician about trying different dailies. I use dailies total 1 lenses now and they are much better, comfortable enough that I forgot I had them in once and fell asleep with them in (not recommended, had sore eyes the next morning).

I find the Oasys for Astigmatism to be the most comfortable having tried monthlies and daily's, for me they are the best compromise, as far as comfort goes. As with most disposables they do tend to feel a bit "drier" towards the end of the fortnight wear period. The dailies I tried were not pleasant in comparison.

Changing from Renu solutions to Bio True also made a perceptible improvement for me.

Don't know how bad my astigmatism is in comparison with others but my prescription is currently

4.25 / 0.75 / 030

4.00 / 1.25 / 110
