Aspergers question
Discussion
I've come across a few people with mild aspergers lately and noticed many of them turn out to be much older than I first thought. EG some I thought were very early 20s and actually being around 30, one I took to be late 20s turning out to be just over 40.
Of course a lot of people seem young for their age, but there does seem to be a pattern here.
Is this usual with aspergers or just a coincidence?
Does delayed social development such as not asking any girls out till the age of 20 give the impression of immaturity?
They don't seem immature in a bad way, it's just that it's easy to underestimate their ages.

Probably coincidence. It's a developmental disorder so people with A.S may well present as younger than they actually are.I've just changed jobs but spent the last 2.5 years working at an inpatient unit which specialises in working with those with A.S. Thinking about the chaps I nursed, many of them were in their late 20s or 30s but probably appeared a few years younger due to their presentation. However, there were also a couple of chaps in their 40s who looked and acted their age.
