Heart disease, stroke, bleeding in the outer layers of the brain, narrowing of the arteries in the legs are just a few.

I read an article on a woman who did atkins for a long period of time and now her body can no longer handle carbs of any sorts. On top of that why would you want to omit a food group?
Jesus christ!

I totally agree that there are many health benefits to lowering sugar and refined carbohydrate consumption. I think that the Atkins diet is less healthy than, say, a 'paleo' diet but I haven't found any evidence that a low carb diet is actively negative in terms of health.

As a matter of interest, what do you all have for breakfast? Eggs and / or porridge? Do you eat stevia sweetener?

On training days I usually have a protein shake with some instant oats in. I don't like to swim with food in my stomach. Otherwise its eggs or home made Granola, use a bit of honey in the granola which is not great but is a small amount and at least honey as some nutritional benefit.
