I've never found Loratadine to work.

I use the 3 a day Benadryl (Blue top packet/Acravastine).

Worth swapping to something other than Loratadine, to see if that new thing is the one that works for you.

We used to offer a steroid injection (kenalog was trade name and triamcinolone was generic name) and it was fantastic at stopping hay fever, but it had side effects. If the symptoms are really getting you down, the steroid will work for the season.
I broke out in shingles. First summer with no issues though.....

It's weird. Mine came on when I was in my mid-30s. I'd never had a hint of it before.

Beconase works for me. No pills seem to make any difference.

I've tried just about every cure since I was about 7.

Beconase seems the most effective for me. I used to have steroid injections, but they stopped offering me that.

It's a shame, I had a lovely pair of norks.

Teaspoon of local raw honey every morning. Has to be local and has to be raw (unprocessed). It works by desensitising you to the pollen.
Won't that entirely depend on the kind of pollen you're allergic to? Mine is tree pollen, I don't think bees collect tree pollen.
When I studied immunology we were told very clearly this was bks. I'm always open to new ideas of course.

Mine came on in my mid twenties...about the time that Rape Seed became a common crop which I think I read somewhere was "bad for hayfever". Mine has actually got better again in the last few years.

Can anyone recommend a decent non-drowsy remedy? I'm particularly sensitive to drowsy meds (got it wrong last year, was found asleep at my desk at work Homer Simpson style smile )

It's a fine balancing act between finding something that works and something that won't knock me out.

Take one of these every morning. Job done.
Don't know why it's upside down.

Cetirizine worked for me until I was about 14. Then I had steroid injections. When I was about 17 they stopped offering me that.

I started the Beconase nasal spray which worked a bit. Now I'm in my 20s and I don't get a big problem, but I use Beconase just in case.

As I said, fexofenadine is very good.
